Samardo Showing Out!

I know we CARD fans had mixed emotions about our former 5- star center Samardo Samuels, it was hard telling a kid who needed to support his family that he could not do so.  Many scratched their heads when he went pro, but tonight may be a coming out party for him.  With two minutes left in the game Samardo has 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assist...against the San Antonio Spurs (a team that  49-11, about to be 50).  Even though his team will take the loss, it is hard not to root for a former CARD out there making a name for himself!

Nicely done, Samardo. Nicely done indeed.

Good for him

Glad he’s doing well, as is Earl now from what I hear. Always makes me wonder why they didn’t shine like that when they were here. I guess it’s like Rajon Rondo. He looked goofy at Kentucky more often that not, but now he’s already an NBA Champion and widely regarded as the leader of one of the greatest teams in the history of the game.

Then, you have guys like Adam Morrison, Andrew Bogut, JJ Redick, Christian Laettner (the list goes on). They make you think they’re gonna shine in the pros and you rarely hear their names spoken again.

Strange transitions.

Might not have been the best examples

But, the consensus has been there. Dominant players in college fail to live up to the hype in the pros more often than not. And in a lot of cases, the quiet ones go on to do big things.

Very few of the current NBA megastars spent much, if any, time in college.

Lebron, Kobe, Melo, Stoudemire, Nowitski, Garnett, Durant, Bosh all played 1 year or less in college. Even Rondo, Paul, and Wade only played 2 years.

His team lost and he played 34 minutes

manny harris 27 min +9
joey graham 15 min +5
Christian Eyenga 16 min +3
Gody 8 min 0
Alonzo gee 38 +2

Everyone else over 30 was in the teens with a -. Samardo played a good game.

I was only perplexed because I didn't think he knew what he was doing

but apparently he’s doing well, so I’m happy with his decision. If you were wondering Samardo: I’m not mad at you.

I’m sure the NBA life has its advantages.
