I only discovered the Card Chronicle this past fall and live in ACC country and never got any  news about the Cards before that. Can anyone please answer this question - I heard about Pitino calling Marra "the best high school shooter I have ever seen", and just assumed he knew a little something about shooters so he must be pretty damn good. Now that the season is unfortunately over, I was looking up some stuff and found Marra's senior year high school stats. He shot 42% from the field, 36% from 3PT and 70% of his free throws. Now lets be honest, these are pretty average numbers. And, there is no doubt that he has seen shooters with much better numbers. Hell, Siva,Justice and Kurik all had significantly better numbers than Marra's and he certainly saw them.

So my question is this - can anyone tell me the genesis of this statement, or is there some missing context (was it said in jest perhaps)? And seriously people, I am not a Marra hater but we all saw some of his airballs this season and I often was curious how this jived with Rick's statement.

Seriously, what is missing here? Please help.
