Hello Chronicloids. I am not new to The Chron (don't call it that), but I am obviously a new poster. While I was enjoying some ME time earlier today, I decided tonight was the night I would finally get involved in this "blog" instead of remaining a supreme lurker. Seriously, I check this site 5+ times a day and Jeff Goodman can't believe how excited I get about it. OK, did I fit enough CC specific jokes into this paragraph? Say yes so we can move on. Say it! Thank you.
I'm ashamed to admit it, but until RP left Lexington, I was a "Slapdick" fan (despite the fact that my dad was a lifelong Cardinals fan, but never forced it on me). After he left I pretty much lost any passion I had for that athletic program in general, then he came back to the Commonwealth and my allegiance had shifted. I've been so much happier since.
Anyway, I just wanted to let this CC family know awesome you are and how happy I am to have a haven of Cardinal fans who always bring me down from the ledge after a loss or keep me updated on our bright future.
Lastly, I want to profess my love for this basketball team as many others have on here throughout the year. It isn't often that you find a group of guys that absolutely leave it all out on the floor every night the way they do. They "play their BALLS off." I will NEVER give up on this team until the clock reads 0:00. With about 4 minutes left in the BE tourney game against ND, a buddy at work (a tolerable UK fan (yes, they exist)) asked me what I thought about the game so far, sensing I may be a little uncomfortable. I told him, "It's not the second half yet." Through this season I have developed a certain chaotic calmness while watching this team. They don't get rattled, so why should we? With this, I say, It's Time. It's Time for #3. I can't wait for the day I log in and see the Anvillen video of our entire National Championship run. This, of course, would follow a couple days of running around pantsless (sp?) and singing this. GET UP, CARDS!!!! IT'S TIME!!!
