Siva will miss practice, not game
The ankle injury Louisville point guard Peyton Siva suffered in Saturday's Big East championship game will force him to miss practice on Monday, but not Thursday's NCAA Tournament game against Morehead State.
''He's not going to practice today, but he'll be okay by game time,'' U of L head coach Rick Pitino said.
Pitino added that Preston Knowles, who was also injured in the loss to Connecticut, is fine and will not miss any practice time.
Pitino had no comment on the availability of Peyton Siva Sr.

Was this a lengthy interview, worth a listen?
I heard he was going to be on at 2PM but couldn’t get away…
I figured he’d break the news that Swop is coming back for the tourney to box out our next opponent.

You didnt miss much…basically said what you would expect (“we dont play political games with the seeds and dont care”…then proceeded to list off the Cards accomplishments this year, kind of amusing).
He was effusive in praise for Morehead and mentioned that they are defensively very similar to us.
Best part was when someone asked if Peyton could be like Kemba Walker next year…he pretended to look into a crystal ball then just walked off without answering.
I thought he was a little testy.
OK, more than a little.
He was impatient with the questions about the seeding; he said he had answered a bunch of stupid emails about our seed relative to Syracuse and “it’s getting under my skin.” He clearly thought there were better things to talk about. He said all the talk about seeds was for late night on ESPNU for people with no life.
Someone asked him what effect playing at altitude would have on the players and he said “Why don’t you go do your research?”
And the crystal ball routine was dripping with sarcasm. He did it with a smile on his face, but truthfully I think he was annoyed.
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
Oh I think he was definitely super pissed. I love it.
I know I threw a fit on Sunday, but I just have an attitude. I hate seeding too. Who care- we the VILLE.

I just stole it for my bracket name
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
The "why don't you do that research" was followed up...
It came off initially as pissed off and sarcastic, but he followed it up with something to the effect of, ‘“no seriously” look it up because your research will give you a much better answer than I (coach) could give.’
I think he added that to soften it.
The first thing out of his mouth, before he took time to censor it or backpedal, was what he meant.
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
Thanks for the summary,
hopefully the crystal ball scene didn’t look like Bobby Knight’s from back in the day. Because, that was kind of awkward.

Rick said he hurt his hand
Which is why he didn’t play the point when Siva hurt his ankle and we had Bullet do it late against UConn
I heard it was a hand injury as well, but nothing serious
But if you remember, it was a hand/wrist injury that Preston suffered early last season that Pitino blamed for Knowles’ subpar (for him) performance in 09-10, so it warrants some concern.

Makes it a bit perplexing
That the last few shot attempts went to Preston if the team knew he had an injured hand.

A Good Sign?
When logging onto Yahoo to fill out the bracket, I see this:
“Francisco Garcia is heating up and his upcoming schedule couldn’t get much friendlier.”
Looks like Cardinals have a tenancy to warm up this time of year.
I don't blame Coach for being testy.
I would’ve been testy, too. I think being a good reporter means knowing your target. Rick has a style that he’s not going to answer political questions, not going to respond to opinion-based rhetoric, and not going to play the “what if” game. Ask smarter, more relevant questions, and he’ll give a better presser.

I don't blame him either, just noted it.
I don’t recall seeing him so obviously unhappy with the questions before. I’m all for it, and I think he handled it well. Without going Bobby Knight “game face” crazy, he made it plain that he didn’t have time for the BS questions he was being asked.
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
He's in the old tournament mode of old, it seems
Charlie put it well over at UofLCardGame:

agreed
is it just me, or were these some of the worst questions ever? he started out saying his concern was morehead state and nothing about seeding, and almost all the questions were about the ‘crazy obsessed’ topics that he discounted at the start.
louisville reporters had an off day. didn’t seem like they listened to him AT ALL!
there were a couple irritable moments that were a little off, but i chalk that up to how tired they all are coming back from NYC.
personally, i loved the crystal ball!
The reporters need to improvise.
I know they go in with a list of questions. They just need to go in with a BETTER list of questions. LIke I said, Rick’s been here 10 years and they should know what he’ll talk about.
