U of L K.O.’s IUPUI 90-60–So Why Am I Concerned? (With Game Pics)
Well, we just dismantled an alphabet school that we were supposed to take apart.
So why am I more than a tad worried?

The author of that article is flippin out a little bit
It’s early. We never look that great. We had Preston and Jennings last year and were putting up alot of points — and Kentucky still ran us out of our own building. It’s not going to come down to how many points we’ve scored heading into that game. It will ride on who is healthy and can make solid contributions, mostly on the defensive end. Last year Rock went down the day before the game and Gorgui was dealing with a concussion. We had virtually no inside presence save for a Jennings who always played questionable D and seemingly never had a desire to rebound. The recipe for disaster was in place well before the tip.
Stopping this Kentucky team from scoring at will is the key. Pressure the hell out of them and make them take challenged shots. Last year there was none of that in the paint and they playgrounded us.
As far as Blackshear — I’m really not liking his chances of being a major contributor. Hope he proves me dead wrong. But, he seems like the kind of guy that will spend most of his tenure here on the shelf. Very injury prone which is not a good thing being in the Ville and playing in the Big East. I just hope when he comes back, he really is ready to come back and 100% healthy.

I think it’s as early to call Blackshear “very injury prone” as it is to flip out over our offensive anemia to date.

I'm "flipping out" only in a hyperbolic sense-- that is, as it relates to us truly being a top 10 team
As I note at the end of my thoughts, it can all come together for the season we dream of. But it’s going to take a little luck (on injuries, Blackshear contribution, etc.) and a lot of Pitino magic….
We are top 20-25 now, with a lot of upside. I can envision that upside, but we shall see…
He's been injured for over a year and a half
Three different ones so far, and hasn’t suited up for one official game yet. Am I really getting ahead of myself?

Blackshear has not been here a year and a half
he was a McDonald’s All American last year for Morgan Park High School.

I didn't say he has been here for a year and a half
I said he has been INJURED for a year and a half, therefore is a safe bet to be injury prone.
Reckon?

I'd agree that it's pretty pessimistic to say that Blackshear will spend most of his career on the shelf.
He’s had two major shoulder injuries, both in the same shoulder. I think it’s safe to assume that one was the cause of the other. Assuming that it’s an injury that will heal completely (and I am a 0% expert on this), I don’t see any reason to believe this is a long running issue.
I bleed red and black. I poop blue.
I thought Rick said he injured both shoulders?
He came back from the first one (after the ankle injury), then he injured his other shoulder?

I thought it was the same shoulder

I thought Rick said the other shoulder too.
