It is, admittedly, very exciting to be guaranteed the best record in the Big East this year. It is, no doubt, exciting to think that is UConn can come out of Cincy with a W next weekend we'll be BCS bound. HCCS has built a UL Football team that the fans can be proud of (inser the usual accolades here).
I think it is a long shot for Cincy to lose to UConn. I just don't see it happening. And I'm sure we'll all be a little disappointed when it doesn't. But HCCS is going to get 4-6 more weeks of practice with his young football team, but virtue of going to any bowl game. So, wherever we end up after this coming weekend, we should be celebrating this team's accomplishments and embracing the possibilities for the future. By reaching a bowl game in each of his first two seasons, HCCS has accelerated the growth of his team--those two extra months of practice will pay dividends in the coming years.
There's a lot to be excited about this season, and just as much to be excited about for the future.
