Saturday marked the first real test for the Louisville Cardinals when they traveled to Indy to face off with Butler. Not only was this the 1st road game for a pretty young team, they had to do it without their starting point guard, and caption, Peyton Siva. The game looked a little rocky early, with Butler leading for the vast majority of the 1st half. The 2nd half was a different story for the Cards, and a big reason for their success was senior Kyle Kuric (along with fellow seniors Chris Smith and Jared Swopshire). Kuric has become much more than a shooter and will need to continue to improve on other aspects of his game for the Cardinals to make a deep run come March/April. Kuric ended the game with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Hopefully Kyle can continue to find success and be a leader with Siva missing at least one more game (against Ark. St). I don't know that anyone saw Kyle Kuric becoming the player that he has, but it has sure been fun to watch.
