It seems they were struck by a drunk driver. Jones left the scene, stating later that he was avoiding a confrontation with the driver of the vehicle that struck them. I'm not sure I buy that one. Cal put out a statement that he was going to institute a curfew now for all players! Why didnt you already have one? Why is your star player out at 2am the night before the season opener? Why did Jones really leave? Hopefully the media will dig for the answers to these question, but I doubt it.
