I know it’s fun to say he is but he’s not; and I wish Rick Pitino/ Bozich hadn't said that he was. I know I’ll take some heat for saying what I’m about to say, but I don't think I’m not wrong so I’ll say it anyway. Calipari is obsessed with winning and crushing his competition, not Rick Pitino; and honestly it's undeniable that he's done a good job of both since he arrived in Lexington.

He might be envious of Rick’s Championship, but that’s about it. You can rest assured that he could care less about vacated wins/ Final Fours. He wants a Championship and I'm willing to bet that John Calipari, and any other coach who’s been in the game as long as he has, is envious of all other coaches with a ring; but that is not specific to Rick Pitino.

It sucks to admit it, but he is killing it right now. He's beating Rick on the recruiting trail, he's beat him head to head in his first 2 years, and he’s been to the Elite 8 and a Final 4 while we’ve been knocked out in the 1st round the last two years. If anything his statements are indicative of someone rubbing it in or twisting the knife. The best way to fight back isn't to get into a war of words. The best way to fight back is to pull that knife out of your own bleeding gut and ram it into his.

Right now he has a laundry list of NBA players Super Stars, including LeBron James, Kevin Durrant, Rajon Rondo, and Derick Rose setting up shop in Lexington. He has guys that every High School player idolizes playing pickup games with his team and giving them shout outs on twitter. He will continue to have his way on the recruiting trail because of things exactly like this. He might be a gigantic douche-bag, but he’s not jealous of Rick Pitino.

He’s doing everything he can to kill the competition ie: Rick/ Louisville, and that doesn’t make him envious. Cut throat and ruthless? Yes. Arrogant and Cocky? You bet. Jealous??? Don’t count on it; no matter how much you want to believe it’s true,....... it’s not. Think about it, he’s managed to steal Teague, will probably grab Harris, and has managed to turn UK into an NBA farm team. While that might not be in line with what college basketball is “supposed” to be about, it is what any elite recruit IS about.

I honestly can’t fault Rick for responding, but I wish he hadn’t. If I was a UK fan I would be laughing my ass off at any Louisville fan who said Cal is jealous of Rick. The best way to shut him/ them up is to beat them, period. I don’t care if the game is in Rupp, just beat them and they can’t say shit. Beat them and get this team to New Orleans,... and there will be crickets coming from Lexington. If you take another loss to them this year and get bounced before the second weekend (again), you can guarantee that the vitriol will be at an all time high; and, there won't be a thing that anyone can say about it.
