MIZZOU TO THE SEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently Missouri is going to end the madness for Louisville fans and apply to the SEC. As long as every report we've heard in the last few weeks about Louisville being "on deck" for the next invite are true, well.... saddle up?
According to the article here in the NY Times, the Missouri Board of Curators will meet on Thursday and Friday at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where the process of withdrawing from the Big 12 and applying to the SEC is expected to begin. Expansion is not listed on the agenda, but there is an private session scheduled Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
I think it's safe to say that things are heating up.... Mike? Thoughts?

I will feel a lot better
if we abstain from this big east exit fee call.
although from eric crawford's article it looks like the vote took place before
Mizzou’s announcement…..and the vote is full of conditions…
I just saw that.
As much as I hate to say it he is right. If these other teams join we will be better in football. Pitt and Syracuse are no loss in that respect.
I still think we are gone. Can’t stop fantasizing about home games with Texas.
Won't matter, according to Crawford the increase probably won't apply....
First, according to CBSSports.com, the vote is conditional on Navy and Air Force joining the Big East. That’s not likely to happen if there are moves that further destabilize the league (i.e., the Big 12 inviting Louisville, or anyone else, to join.)
Navy also is said to be watching Boise State’s decision on the Big East very closely. So the addition of those two teams is far from a foregone conclusion.
….. because fat chance Navy and Air Force sign on once Missouri says they’re out of the Big 12, at least until they see what Louisville, WVU, and Cinci do.

It's all over but the cry'n if this report is true.
Missouri leaving the Big12 means the loss of not one but 2 huge markets (#s 21 and 31).
This means that the Big12 will need to make themselves as attractive as possible for TV negotiation purposes. How do they do that?
- By adding other top 50 markets. There aren’t any other teams out there that give them 2 top 50 markets. That’s why you’re heard all along that Missouri leaves they will go back to 12 teams.
- Also, going back to 12 gives them a championship game which means a little more leverage in TV negotiations as well.
Like I said, if this report is true, kiss the Big East goodbye.

Forgot to add that Louisville and Cinci are both top 50 markets. That's why both schools will recieve an invite as soon as it goes down.
They really wanted BYU because Salt Lake City is the #33 market.

I'm pulling for this to happen
Putting aside the fact that I’ll get to see the Cards play a lot since I live in Big 12 country, it’s just a no-brainer decision for the school. A lot more football money and inroads into a great prep talent recruiting state. Pitino will cry about it, but he’ll like being a big fish in a relatively small pond. Kansas is obviously a perennial power, but no one else in the Big 12 has Louisville’s history and success. We’ll thrive in this conference.
