Louisville Preview and an Explanation

1

As some of you should really know, I write a Bearcats site. You should really know that because I just linked to it, and none of you are stupid. I feel like I should explain myself. When I was a youngster, I grew up here. Some of my oldest memories are being at Cardinal Stadium, watching games with my dad. My family moved to Cincinnati around the time I was in first grade. Being in my late 20s now, that means I was growing up right at the time Cincinnati basketball took off. Back then, Louisville and Cincinnati didn't play each other every year, so I found it ok to root for both. Except Cincinnati football, which I didn't care about at all. When Cincinnati and Louisville joined the same league, I rooted for the Cards in football, and in a total cop out, the basketball game to be close and exciting. I would listen to Cards games on the radio, because I was a giant nerd. The only time I rooted against the Cards against UC was 2001, because I was at UC and loved that team. But the Cards had a chance to get an at large bid if I remember correctly, so it wasn't all bad. I still can see Logan throwing the pass behind Stokes at the end of the game. As I grew older, and moved back to the Louisville area, I unabashedly started rooting for Louisville basketball. That was when Huggins was still the coach, so it wasn't abandoning my liking UC just because they were bad. It was a case of being away from UC basketball hurt my interest in UC hoops, along with them sucking. That brings me to about three years ago. Of course Cincinnati football took off. My interest reading about it also went up. When the Bearcats beat Pitt, I wanted to read some UC like version of CC. But, there was none. So I started my own. I truly hate posting links to my articles on here, because I feel it's clearly just fishing for page views, which it is. CC's readership is a lot bigger than mine. Plus, you all click on things because you are very nice. Take away the mascot being arrested, and Mick Cronin not going to NC State, all my biggest traffic days are when something was linked to on the main part of the page. So thank you. That aside, my Card fandom has still been here. When they play at the same time, I'm in the game threads here. When they play each other, I'm still here rooting on the Cards. It's hard doing the twitter for the blog because it has to come from a UC slant. I feel very bipolar. If UC and Louisville played 3 times a year, I would probably go crazy. Anyway, I figured I owed everyone an explanation of things while shamelessly promoting my site. Thank you.
