I have a friend that has a younger brother his age

He passed him once at school and said that he thought his socks might have had a slightly red tint to them.

From Demling’s blog….

Davis, rated as the state’s top prospect by ESPN.com, told a local television station on Tuesday that he would make his decision public today.

But those plans have changed.

Davis’ father, Reggie, now lives in Tennessee because of his job and couldn’t make it home because of the bad weather conditions.

Whalen said Davis’ mother, Juanette, informed him the family will cut off all recruiting from colleges after today. Illinois coach Ron Zook is expected to visit later today.

Davis is “close” to his decision but after a final pitch from Zook, the family will sit down and talk over the decision later this week. Whalen said a decision “probably won’t come until Feb. 2,” which is national signing day.

I'm trying to decide what Zook's visit means

(a) he’s told Zook that he’s decided on UK or UofL, and Zook wants one more chance to change his mind;
(b) he’s decided on Illinois and Zook is there to make sure he doesn’t change his mind again; or
© Zook is as much in the dark as anyone else and this visit was scheduled before Davis made up his mind.

…I bet Chuck told him to wait until 2/2 so we can have a hanful of 3-4 star guys commit and really make an impact on signing day. Our staff is smart and having a big signing day that puts our name next to the USC and Florida’s of the world for all the future players and media to see only does good things for our program – like Holliman putting the hat on at half-time. Think Region, Dubose, and Davis as well as a couple of mid-high level surprises. I Just have a feeling Chuck has something up his sleeve – when he is coaching he is Charlie….. when he is being very smart, sneaky, and savage recruiter… he is Chuck

Davis is a big catch (er, steal). I think he’d want the kids commitment as soon as he’s made it. Close that sale. It isn’t something I think HCCS would tell a kid to delay for any publicity reasons. Not a fish this big. It’s not just that he’s a solid athlete who could play many positions for Louisville. It’s that he’s considered the state’s top recruit. It’s a bigger deal because of that. I think HCCS probably urges every kid he goes after to choose and commit right away.
