Marra re-injures ankle, likely out for Saturday
Awesome.
"I don’t even think he’ll play in the next game; he injured it again (against Villanova)," Pitino said Thursday on the Big East coaches teleconference.
Marra, who averages 8.4 points and 2.2 rebounds, played just five minutes in the Cardinals’ 88-74 loss to the Wildcats and was 0-for-2 from the field.
It is the same ankle injury that kept the 6-foot-4 sophomore guard out against Western Kentucky and Morgan State. Pitino said the Cards missed his offensive presence in games, but he’s more concerned with the practice time Marra missed.
"He needs to improve his defense, he needs to improve his passing, he needs to improve his physical play on the backboard," Pitino said. "And when he doesn’t practice from three weeks to a month (because of the injury) he doesn’t get that opportunity that would have led to his improvement."

Sigh
I think even his durability is being effected by his headcase-ness.

It's now becoming clear that it just isn't our year. The cards are stacked against us.
Therefore, we should just play loose, have fun, and play just to get to next season. (And Hope Behanan and Price can stay healthy so they can rebound.) When Buckles comes back relatively healthy, the conference losses will be too many to overcome. Plus, winning the BE Tourney is unlikely. If this team makes the tournament, they will have overachieved. Folks, I sense a dangerous meeting with Pearl and the Vols in the NIT!
just a thought
Given how tough things have been for him (injury, poor shooitng), could he transfer? I don’t know. Just a thought as I read this.
I like Marra & hope he continues to improve at Louisville
But if he’s entertaining a change of scenery, he may be better-suited at a school like Rhode Island/St. Bonaventure/UMass in the Atlantic 10. One wonders how many minutes he’ll see next season at U of L.

So are game injuries due to practicing too hard?
Or maybe Pitino makes him play too hard.
Just sayin’.
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
Sigh
I mean, I’m not sure this really effects the team too much except for depth, but still.
