Pretty reasonable except
Why do the people in South florida give an ef about Connecticut at Michigan
Maybe USF?
I figured outside of Louisville, the Big East teams will want to see UConn against an ex-Big East coach.
South Florida...
…tends to be linked up with whatever the east coast (ie, NY / New England) is doing for TV purposes.
I think you're right.
That’s why I hate all the New Englanders that inhabit South Florida…. that and their accents.

Yay
my fave bar that gets all the games-that is not an obnoxious sports bar. However, we will have to reserve a spot early just to make sure. Competing with UCLA (the dreaded California transplants here) and Oregon plays on the local Comcast Sports network at the same time too (along with the other 12:30 kick offs). Watching it with a couple of Card fans and my sole UK friend out here. Amazingly, he is a very reasonable guy.

Barnfart knows that this is actually bad for the programs
Playing this game first week of the year is bush league, typical of the Big Least. Did you see the coverage map for ESPN Classic when both teams were ranked in 2007? NATIONAL, son.

If by talking you mean pointing out the fact that a game on the first weekend between a mediocre team and a bad team is on network TV while the biggest game in rivalry history, played the 3rd week, was on ESPN Classic, then yes, I am talking. Do we have JP Sports or whatever it’s called now locked up for next year??

A remedial understanding of the rivalry is all that is needed:
Barnfart = Barnhart (UK AD).
UK stubbornly thinks the game should be played 3rd week against all reason.
The 2007 game, easily the most hyped edition of the game in history, was on ESPN Classic due to being played 3rd week. UK could have had one of their greatest moments in program history watched by 10x’s as many people if they played it first week on Sunday night on ESPN with no other games being played, as ESPN offered to supply us on an annual basis.

ESPN Gameplan Will Carry the Game
Any sports bar will be able to get it.
Any ideas?
I moved to Toronto a couple weeks ago and apparently espn3 is exclusive to the States. We do get ABC but its retransmitted from buffalo. Anyone know another site that might stream the game?
Saturday
I’m looking forward to going to a sports bar only to have them have an extremely difficult time of finding the game and ultimately having it not work out. I’ve seen this movie to many times in the past to be confident that the game will be shown.
been there done that
I really dont want to spend 3 hours screaming at my tiny laptop to watch the game, but it might be my only choice. I was hoping the rivalry + big east ties would mean it would be carried here in Pittsburgh, but i guess the big ten tied + big east ties + two teams expected to do better than UK and UofL trumps that.
I love these Displaced-Card-Fan threads
We are lonely beacons of life, cheering for U of L in the far-flung wastelands pointing our antenna towards home in desperate hope of hearing good news of tackles and touchdowns and the vanquishing of our enemy. Distance separates us, but our shared history and mutual devotion to our team makes us feel as close as family.
Except when it doesn't
A properly aimed antenna can pull in WHAS at night here in Richmond, VA.
anyone know of any L'ville gatherings for the game in NYC?
I found online UK is having one at Jack Dempseys near 33rd. Thinking about crashing that. If anyone knows of one please post it. Would like to watch with other cards fans.
i was actually just looking for somewhere to watch in the city. thinking about going to the bullpen (1st ave bw 88th and 89th) with a few Cards fans.
I guess the UL Alumni group for the bball games usually meets at the Heartland Brewery in the Empire State Building. Maybe ill make my way up to the upper east side. Need to start a NYC Cardinal bar for the games. Not Brother Jimmy’s, feel like all the other southern schools meet there.
I tried to start a UL presence up at Wharf bar for basketball games but it was disastrous. A couple of us drank pretty heavily during the 8-hour Villanova game and may or may not have scared away some customers. Anyway, both Bullpen and Bounce (73rd and 2nd) said to call in the morning to confirm whether they will play the game, so I can let you know then if you’d like to join. Email?
Check ESPN
The game will be on their GAMEPLAN package. Anyone with Directv or cable can get this, so almost any sports bar in the US should be able to show the game.
Naturally...
I live in the Winston-Salem – Greensboro, NC market. ABC has decided to give us the UConn game while markets on either side of us (Charlotte and Asheville, NC) get th UofL game. I’m getting rabbit ears so hopefully I can watch a game in HD.
ESPN Gameday
Had to buy ESPN Gameday here in Columbus, Ohio (at least for the day), in order to see the most important game today!! These people want to watch U Conn and Michigan for some lame reason!

GOT IT!
Although I might be the only UofL fan in Canada I wanted to let anyone else who cant get espn3 with their ISP know that you can get ‘remote access’ setup by a friend who has access. adam10001 is the man. much love purp
