Coach Strong believes in this team, and after the Oregon State game, I do too.

Publicly, Strong said he can never be pleased with a loss. "You can't take satisfaction," he said.

Privately, in the locker room after the game, he tweaked that message. Heath said the coach was encouraging. He mentioned winning the Big East Conference — loudly

I'm not ready to predict a BE championship for this team

but there’s not a game left on the schedule that isn’t winnable if key players stay healthy. The lack of depth, however, is a concern. Two or three injuries could cripple us.

In a couple of years, when Charlie has two and a half recruiting classes suiting up, we will be contenders – and I don’t mean in the Big East.

I Agree,

I think we’re about 2 more seasons away. As far as this season, I think Bellamy is our biggest factor, as far as offense is concerned. Doug will get more attention, which leaves the door wide open for himself and Graham. We could make more noise in the BE than anyone predicted though, because we are a very akward team to match up with. Very good running backs, mobile QB, and not very deep, but good wide receivers. While most teams have a bread and butter style, we have many “options” at our disposal. I love it, and I think our style gets harder and harder to figure out the longer HCCS is here…

I don't think it's that difficult to match up with us.

Good running backs, mobile QB, and good receivers pretty much describes West Virginia, Cincy, and USF. Plus, all three of those teams have more depth and arguably better defenses (at least in terms of personnel).
