Guy on Vs just said "smellivision."
Add in the static, and you can already tell this is going to be a quality broadcast.
Do we not have....
..Vs in HD in Louisville?
I know we say this every year, but seriously, pretty much every other channel we have on HD now. This is awful.
I was still smiling about the UK loss to LSU when. . .
they showed a clip of us losing to Rutgers. It ruined the moment.
Goes without saying....
….but Pitt losing this game would be really bad for the Big East. not that it really matters this year, but when we are competing for the BCS championship next year, we don’t want to be the odd-undefeated team out.
It feels good to care about college football again, even if it involves delusions of 2011 grandeur.
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow night
I will be wearing my Louisville tie and plan on dropping Card-related puns all night.
So far I’ve got:
—1,000 things with Strong
—Your hair’s looking long, might be time to cut the FRO MAN.
—Matt’s (the groom) getting his VIC wet tonight.
—Pass the CHICHESTER sauce.
—Look at the UK fan’s suit…what a Joker.
I’m blacking out during the ceremony.
Kyle and I will be crashing
They gone have to stop sleeping on me one day.. I gotta be one of the best

Coverage Maps

For those not living in Louisville and interested in which game(s) ABC/ESPN is(are) going to steer your way, the link above shows where the star power is o n Saturday. Hint: it’s not us.
Living in St. Louis, I am feeling the shaft. At least I’ll be watching on ESPN3.
Go Cards!
Sucks that of all that southeastern part of the country Florida is cut out.
Would have been good for recruiting to be the main game on in that state.

Well this sucks
I’ll be away from ho?me and had planned to DVR it, but we get UConn-Michigan. Is ESPN3.com stuff available on a delayed basis like ESPN360 was
Yeah this kinda sucks
Road trippin through CA this wknd, gotta watch this on ESPN3 as well unless we find the most remote UK or UL bar in the CONUS.

Alabama player just suspended by NCAA and ordered to pay back money he took from an agent.
This is getting pretty widespread. Guess that’s what happens when you turn your back for 10 years and then decide to stop. Great job, NCAA.
They have zero idea how to handle this
Surprising no one.

Seriously.
There are now only two good outcomes to this:
1) Pitt rallies and wins this game by 2+ possessions.
2) Pitt loses but turns out to be somehow terrible and finishes 5th or worse in the Big East and Utah finishes in the Top 15.
Anything in between, and it will be another long offseason with people bitching about the Big East’s auto-bid.
So the effort level and intensity between these two teams is drastically different.
I can only hope this is how Saturday goes for us (assuming we are Utah and UK is Pitt). And that it lasts for the whole game with us and not in this game.
When will Big East contract with Versus?
I love this channel.
by REALISTICCARDSFAN on Sep 2, 2010 10:07 PM EDT reply actions
Hopefully as soon as possible.
But most likely when the MWC gets our BCS bid and we switch TV contracts. They get ESPN and we get Vs.
Any day then.
Fortunately, the Big East being crappy betters Louisville’s chance of winning games.

Injury
That South Carolina player just randomly under cut that kid and injured him on an overthrown ball.
I think every team is getting their Pitt gameplan tonight.
Blitz.
They’re trying to run it every down, and when they pass Sunseri will either hold it too long or throw an incompletion.
As an afterthought...
That whole “three new offensive line starters” deal was probably swept under the rug a bit too much.
Weird game
Pitt owns T.O.P., but has fewer than half the 1st Downs as Utah and has looked inept all night, for the most part. Sometimes stats lie.
Pitt is also
+2 on Turnovers (I think), and yet trails. One of those strange games on the stats page.
Pitt's game plan=
give the ball to Lewis.

Ditto
At least we don’t have to experience the pain.

So if he'd stuck to his commitment
Would Sunseri be starting for us on Saturday?

UTAH
is gonna beat Pitt. That looks like a tough place to play!
by Cambroni Cardinals on Sep 2, 2010 11:10 PM EDT reply actions
Utah
has almost 300 passing yards. Were they supposed to be a good passing team, or is Pitt’s secondary really this porous?
Honestly, it's looking like Pitt is just not very good there.
They haven’t been able to get pressure, so they’re bringing guys up and then don’t have the speed behind it. They already talked about how their SS is basically a converted linebacker.
Is the camera at Pitt.....
…the first time a Vs camera crew has traveled east of the Mississippi? They must have increased their budget this year by $1,000/game.
Either they increased their budget...
or Pitt actually set up the camera and streamed it to Vs so their fans wouldn’t feel so bad about having to watch Vs.
Hard to tell.
I'd say somebody's fit for a "Krag" reference.
Dave Kragstache?
Maybe too early. We’ll have to see if he runs the team completely into the ground at some point. Plus, he can still recruit.
Really feel like this kid will miss the kick if they don’t score.

Holy bejesus.
Seriously, is that Krag in the booth? My God, what are thinking Pitt? Go for the fucking win.
But it obviously has hella suck, and sometimes that’s all you need.

Well that just figures
I stopped watching when Utah went up 11 with 8 minutes to play. Apparently, even though I’ve never been to Utah, I’m their jinx. Now that I’m watching again, I fully expect them to win.
I couldn't even finish watching.
And I ashamedly admit being a fan of both the Snuggie and the Macarena. But putting them together is like mixing salsa and bananas.
Which my dad has actually done, so maybe it’s an acquired taste.
Just switched over to the USC-Hawaii game.
Two thoughts:
1) I love Hawaii’s stadium. You have to think that if they were in the PAC-10, they would have a top 5 recruiting class every year. I mean, you’d be living in freaking Hawaii.
2) Lane Kiffin has gone for a two point conversion every single time in this game. Seriously, biggest douche in sports. Only thing that could make it worse is if he coached at UK. Which I’m shocked that he’s not, actually.
I like them going for 2 all the time
It’s like Lane Kiffin is playing NCAA 11 in real life. Hawaii’s QB is balls. I think the knock on Hawaii not getting recruits is the fact that it’s in Hawaii and nowhere near anything.
Oh and UK would have to actually be good to get a coach of same name value. Their current coach is a Joker for crying out loud. You’re welcome.
I have to disagree with all of this.
1) Kiffin going for two is just stupid, and because of it he’s only up 7 points rather than 8.
2) Hawai’i’s QB is actually ok (for a Hawai’i QB anyway), his receivers are just dropping everything.
3) I bet people have the same complaint about Notre Dame.
4) I would rather have Joker Phillips to Lane Kiffin.
so the Pride of the Big East bites the big one
At first I thought this was a disaster for the Big East, but consider: Utah came into the game ranked, with a long home-win streak going, and if I read this pre-game statement correctly…
Oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog.com currently list the Utes as 3-chalk ATS favorites and -155 moneyline versus the Panthers with a posted game total of 49. Pitt backers are getting +135 odds for a SU win.
…then Utah was actually favored, and the 3-point margin exactly matched the spread. So I’m calling it good news for us, as it shows Pitt isn’t so great (they actually looked rather inept much of the time) and, as someone noted upthread, they appear vulnerable to the blitz – which might play into our hand considering HCCS’s emphasis on speed.
That’s my story, anyway, and I’m sticking to it.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
The only real saving grace here is that the Mountain West is getting torn apart over the next few years. With Utah and BYU leaving, it’s only a matter of time before the Big 12 try to pick up TCU and Boise, after which the MWC has absolutely no claim to a BCS auto-bid.
