Nova to join the Big East in Football?
The Big East very recently communicated its interest in adding Villanova as a football member," Wildcats AD Vince Nicastro told the Daily News on Thursday. "As a result, we have decided to embark on an in-depth evaluation of this opportunity."

Interesting...
I’m afraid they would be another WKU and lose 21 in a row, therefore making the Big East even worse. All other conferences are making themselves better and I’m not sure Villanova would be doing that for us.

That's not necessarily true.
Villanova has been really good in the FCS and won the FCS championship last year. Also, keep in mind that UConn was in the FCS just 10 years ago. They made a bowl game in their first season in the FBS. I’m not saying Villanova would have the exact same success, but getting a good coach and being in the Big East would really help.
Of course, being in Pennsylvania would be a problem. You’re always going to be fighting Pitt and Penn State for fan response and recruiting, and that’s not a battle I’m sure they could win. UConn didn’t really have those issues. They would also have to get a decent stadium.
