U of L players tiring of '09 Kentucky game

The most interesting tidbit to come from Eric Crawford's blog recently is the fact that Charlie Strong has set things up so that a tape of last year's Louisville/Kentucky game (Spoiler!: we don't win) is playing on a continuous loop throughout the football training room.

It was previously made known that Strong has had "picked to finish last in the Big East" taped all over the weight room for the players to look at all summer.

In a related story, a kid who accidentally brushed shoulders with me in 1995 and didn't apologize has been locked in a room with Steve Kragthorpe's "Trent Guy is a freaking stud" speech playing on a continuous loop and "apologize when you accidentally brush shoulders with people" taped everywhere.

When a motivational tactic works, you utilize it.

tired and then there's TIRED

The players will never be as tired of that tape as we fans were of that coach.

It's going to be a great game I think...

Watch Coach Strong only play the 4th Quarter for the last 3 weeks leading up to the game for ‘extra’ motivation.

A lot of Krag's guys are back from last year

And for once, this isn’t a bad thing. Those guys wanted it BAD last year. And if you’re that caliber of talent (or lack thereof) AND Krag is your head man, and you come within a hair of winning that game — you want it bad, big time.

A lot of those same players will be back, only this time they will have a coach. For those facts alone, UK better be ready. These kids will be drooling for a victory like rabid dogs this time.

yea uk will really have to be on their game, no half assing

it untill the 4th like last year, but with both teams being about equal with louisville having the homefield and momentum i look for louisville to win 21-17

Louisville Beats UK

I’m taking down the names of you “fans” who doubt this and will be happy to remind you over and over again as the season plays out. This the HCCS Era, bitches!

I think we win this.

UK is a little worse, we’re a little better, and we now have a new head coach and an offense that could cause some real confusion. Not only is the spread inherently difficult to defend, even with lower talent players, but it will be the first time it’s ever been seen in a full game, so the planning is a little more difficult for UK.

The biggest hurdles are going to be our defense (our secondary is potentially worse and our linebacking corps and DL are huge question marks) and our own mistakes.
