New U of L football anthem
OK, the Philpott line got this bumped to the front page on its own, but the entire last 2/3 of this song is actually pretty clever.
Hey everyone! Here is a brand new UofL football song called No Fly Zone... These are 2 local rappers just trying to do something for the UofL fan base. They hope to get it played in PJCS. So check it out and tell me what you think about it it's good quality doesn't sound like it was recored in some ons basement... no fly zone, no fly zone, no fly zone.

umm A for effort, F- on the song. shut these guys up
I would imagine this will be our song as somehow we adopted the dumbest name in the world a few years ago. “The Ville” good god stop the madness, im tired of looking like a stupid school with this crap.
Gary
Louisville is an urban university, get over it.. If you want your theme song to be of the country genre head on down to Lexington and start wearing blue…

it has nothing to do with urban vs. country
it has to do with this song being acid to my ears
There's no accounting for taste.
All lot of fans will love it. A lot will hate it. I laughed at some of the references, but there’s an annoying quality to the track that makes me not want to have to listen to it again.
Every time dude says
“Y’ont fly hyur” I can’t tell if he’s going for “hurr” or if it’s his best impression of a stewardess from Green Bay.
lol
your right ebonics and wordplay shouldn’t be in rap! I want one freakin rap song without ebonics please..

I think we just found the creators of the fake DD twitter account
Yep… sounds like they have a lot of time to create this:

Stop
If you don’t like the song that’s fine no big deal but don’t keep writing how bad it is. it’s a good song fun for the fan’s. You keep posting how bad it is and people don’t want to listen…
Thanks.
I've got to admit...
I enjoyed the line about “Beaumont teaching me how to Dougie.” Well done.

well
It’s a good song. Maybe a little bit before it’s time though. Hopefully the team/Charlie Strong coaching is as good as the rap indicates. Otherwise, I blame the rapper for a jinx. However, I think for this song to become a hit, we have to beat UK. Then it might caught on.

Got Bush and Borhm up for da Heisman
OG Card song > this card song
Greatest rap song of all-time
“Ain’t a question if we goin’ to da bowl game, credit to Petr— I ain’t gotta say his whole name”
This one’s not as bad as people are making it out to me, I think it’s just that the “no fly zone” theme doesn’t really work. It’s a bad ass nickname for one player, but it doesn’t really fit if you’re applying it to the whole team.

That might be true now, but with HCCS it soon will.

Some of you old fuddy duddies need to lighten up.
The song was actually pretty decent. I mean, we’re not going to be hearing it on the radio any time soon, and I doubt you’ll hear it much at PJCS since a lot of UofL fans are, in fact, old fuddy duddies. But it certainly wasn’t anywhere near as bad as what I was expecting after reading all your comments, and I don’t even typically like rap.
That being said, you immediately lose points for having a site in all Flash. That’s so 2005.
I like rap
But this song is embarrassing to listen to.
You're embarrassing to listen to.

Hey
rmiles what rappers do you listen to and what’s bad about the song? Beats nice, lyrics are good, and it’s guys from “your” city representing “your team”. I’m sure your the type of person that always has something negative to say or maybe your mad you didn’t come up with it first.. Quit being a hater…

To me it’s the equivalent of this song for UK fans:

I liked all the raps we had back in the glory days a few years ago, but this new one is not good.
Wouldn't know..
I wouldn’t know about that song, because of the title of it I’m not gonna listen. So maybe you don’t like this song because you don’t generally like rap.. Or maybe because we aren’t in our Glory days, but whatever it is, I think you should listen again, these guys have a very unique style..

Decent
But NOTHING can ever beat For My Cards from when we were great and BCS bowling. I remeber driving from the hotel to the stadium on Orange Bowl day with front windows down and back windows with flags blasting that song even thought it was pouring down rain

As an anthem to get the crowd hype it’ll play, but I couldn’t listen to it on a humbug.

Worst U of L related rap
since Luke Whitehead became L Dubb…
Too many reasons why all traces of this song should be burned… but here’s a few:
1) One of the guy’s voice is annoying…
2) The lyrics are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too cheesy
3) The beat sounds exactly like it was recorded in his basement
To validate my points…
I am under 25… graduated from U of L last year… went to the Orange Bowl… loved the Young Nitt songs… loved Clik Clak, Here Come the Red and Black… CAN NOT STAND THIS SONG!
Andy..
The beat is nice, do you mean the vocals over the beat? The lyrics are cheesy? So shouting out players using metaphors is cheesy? You would rather hear someone say R u ready R u ready R u ready over and over again? I disagree with you, the rappers have a unique sound and I like it..
Unique is right
I like the lyrics and the beat… and especially the creativeness when talking about individual players.
However, I can’t much past the WAY country accent of one of the rapper’s. Just a matter of opinion and tastes…
