Around SBN: Now They've Screwed Spurs, UEFA Willing To Review Rule

The Simulations!

So the embargo on NCAA has been lifted as of today.  Reviews are coming in that have been pretty good.  Most are saying that it's the best next-gen football game available (which considering the only other football games released on next-gen consoles were pure Arcade games and/or didn't have the NFL or NCAA licenses still isn't saying much).  Running is apparently much improved, mostly due to blocking improvements.  AI is slightly better, and graphics are much better.

But I know that you guys really want to know about Louisville.  Let's start with the good.  First of all, the stadium expansion IS IN, despite previous reports.  They've added the east upper deck, at least.  The scoreboard looks the same, and I didn't see the new south terrace.  Not saying they're not in, I just didn't see them.  Also, on the Unitas endzone side, the shrubs are not in, but they did add the black "The Ville" inflatables (although, I'm now wondering if we've even used those since 06?).  Now for the bad... the roster is completely jacked up.  I doubt Dorsey or Campbell are in there.  And guess who is rated as our best player?  Vic Anderson?  Nope.  Beaumont?  Nada.  Froman?  You wish.  No, instead it's the stellar and proven... Chris Philpott.  Yes, that's right, the man who has barely played the last two seasons at our worst position and who has been wildly inconsistent in those games in which he has played is the ONLY player rated in the 90s on the team.  Plus there are still issues such as Ashley still being at HB and Chichester still being at WR.  Also, we apparently have another kicker with number 17 who is the 5th best player on the team.  Umm... ok.  Suffice to say, you will want to use updated (and more accurate) community rosters as soon as they become available, so make sure to wait a bit before you start your Dynasties and do some simulations.

Speaking of simulations, I've only seen one so far.  But there was good news.  In that simulation, it had Louisville going 7-5 (3-4) and beating 8-4 (4-3) Hawaii in the New Mexico bowl by a score of 41-24.  Obviously I wouldn't put much into that though since apparently EA thinks our best (nay, only ELITE player) is a junior kicker who has 6 FGs and 10 XPs in his career.

I was wondering the same thing

I pre-ordered it (ship to store), but didn’t have it shipped directly to me.

I don't already have it.

But a bunch of guys at Operation Sports do, and review copies are out. The reviewers at Operation Sports are very thorough and went through and took about 400 screenshots of the game from top 7 players on each team to in-game gameplay to a full season simulation. You can go to www.operationsports.com and see for yourself. The stadium expansion stuff was actually from EA’s official NCAA blog.

Ah, thanks...

Darius Ashley (#8) is still listed as a HB too. These numbers are probably based upon the spring game… I’m guessing since Philpott was hitting 50+ yard field goals and because the roster differences.

I’d take 4th in the Big East, for sure… but I’m not sure how we ended up in the New Mexico Bowl when a Big East team did not go to the St. Pete bowl.

I see what you mean about the terrace… and the expanded deck is definitely from the expansion renderings

i think louisville will be

better then what people think… louisville had good players last year and good in coming players .. just kragthorpe sucked at coaching … i can see louisville getting 8 to 9 wins if the mesh well but a 7-5 record would be a good guess

First prediction UofL from UK fan with this many wins

Are you projecting a UofL win on Sept 4th? :) If not, who do you think we’ll beat if the 7/8/9 win season comes true?

i think uk lost waaaayy to much on the defensive

end to be able to win at louisville, i also believe louisville was way better then what they showed last year… with louisville having a new coach bred in the sec who knows uk very well and louisville having homefield it will take alot for uk to get this one … plus 4 in a row is hard for uk to get on any decent team

true but last year uk's passing was horrible

had to resort to the wildcat for offense if our qb and passing haven’t improved then uk has no shot… charlie strong will have louisville ready and playing to and probably above potential louisville was way better then a 4 win team last year… everyone could see the coaching mistakes and lack of motivation on the players part.. no way that flies on strongs watch

a coaching change can do wonders for a team...

especially when he is coming from a dominant team like the gators… strong will have louisville playing like they were under petrino … ofcourse i hope im wrong and he fails BUT i dont see him failing.. great hire for jurich

I think the 7-5 prediction is about as good as it will get.

This means we will probably lose only one OOC game, which will likely be Oregon State. This also means that we will win 3 conference games, most likely Syracuse, UConn, and USF. That’s a tall order in and of itself.
