The new cardinal head has teeth. The new cardinal head is used on the logo with the wing. The new cardinal head appears on nearly every uniform somewhere and is the same one included on this jersey.
The new cardinal head is in fact the same one used on DANCARD’s avatar.
The old cardinal head is taken from the old “fighting cardinal” as well as the dunking cardinal and football cardinal.
Yikes.
Hopefully they look better on the court…in the KFC Yum! Center (just making sure you guys didn’t forget that was the name of our new arena, because it is).
I don't think those are new...
I’m pretty sure those are the replica jerseys that they sold last year. In fact you can get a #15, Samardo jersey (http://jdbeckerstores.com/store/viewItem.asp?idproduct=1749). I remember them being really ugly and wondering when Adidas would start making replicas that really look like our jerseys.
Usually, the new jerseys aren’t revealed until Media day, yeah?

I'm no art critic, but these absolutely suck.
To be perfectly honest, I’ve never cared for the stylized “L” the school went to years ago. Bring back the ol’ block “L” for me, by golly. If it was good enough for Westley Unseld….

Adidas/UofL have decided that the black jerseys are the way to go. I can only think of like once we wore red last season. And that was against Kentucky.
my biggest complaint about the black unis has been the color of the numbers and the crest. i think it would look better to have “LOUISVILLE” in white and the colors and the name on back in red. having that in white would make the name pop out a lot better.
btw, i have been partial to the unis we had during the nit final 4 run, the one with the 3 band rainbow on the back of the shorts. granted that year was very forgettable, but the unis were the best i can remember in the pitino era.

I like the Black
Even if the RED looks great in HD. Even if the old school hyper WHITE are the s***, and might be our best ever. I kinda like when we ware black, it feels intimidating. The style is weak no question but I understand what they had in mind. Why didn’t we just go with Nike, was the money THAT good?

Black is a bad color for uniforms
Teams in black unis are called for more fouls (and penalties, in football) than teams in any other color. Here is an article about a study of pro hockey teams. Other studies have shown the same effect in other sports. Google “black uniforms more penalties” and you’ll find a wealth of studies that all say the same thing: teams that wear black get in more trouble with the officials.
Cincinnati probably blew that stat up
When you just happen to wear black uniforms and you recruit from penitentiaries, it’s gonna inflate those statistics.
I think black used to be intimidating but now everyone is doing it. Sort of like the white outs, red outs, black outs.
