Around SBN: Now They've Screwed Spurs, UEFA Willing To Review Rule

Video: Dan McDonnell's ejection

Kudos to Charlie Springer for both the video and for telling the true story before anyone else.

The true story (condensed version): these umpires are bags of the utmost degree. The true story foreward: that pitch was 17-feet outside.

Thanks for the video

That’s pretty enlightening. Big East obviously has a problem with officials in more than one sport. Why does it always have to be Ul v a NY area school? Anyone checked the point spreads on these games? Maybe the local mafia’s making bank!

b.s.ump makes a horrible call and then trys to show up the coach. And the coach gets suspended for nothing?

wait so we're proud of him?

that’s the standard of conduct we hold our coaches to? flipping out like a soccer mom when a call doesn’t go their way AND the player makes a play of poor sportsmanship afterwards? Dan’s lucky he only got three games…

"Flipping out like a soccer mom"

Or one of literally thousands of baseball coaches across the country. And he’s not lucky, because the rule specifically states his offense carries a three-game punishment.

no one is saying they are "proud" of him

Look, making contact with a a ref/ump is a big deal in my book, but to me, after looking at the video, the umps were clearly escalating the situation, not calming it down. McDonnell is walking away and they continued to follow him and obviously something was said that caused him to charge out of the dugout. Again, I’m not proud of him, but it looked like this whole thing could have been avoided is the umps didnt have to have the last word. And yeah, like Mike said, 3 games is standard for that kind of action. I guess you just don’t like any of the coaches as UofL.

They're umps

Unfortunately, they have the last word… just ask Armando Galarraga.
Resistance is futile, except if it’s to motivate your team.

Mike and Ben already educated you.

So my comment is this: you don’t like Rick, you don’t like Dan McDonnell, and all you ever do when you’re here is bitch and moan and say coaches should be fired. Please go away.

God help you if you ever say something bad about Charlie Strong.
