Dan McDonnell just keeps making history.

For the first time, the Louisville baseball team has been named one of the eight national seeds for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Cards, seeded seventh, are now guaranteed of hosting a best-of-3 Super Regional series if they advance out of this weekend's regional tournament at Jim Patterson Stadium.

U of L's march to Omaha will begin Friday night against A-10 champ Saint Louis. The Billikens picked up the No. 4 seed in the regional and will be joined by second-seeded Vanderbilt and No. 3 Illinois State.

Vandy, which knocked off the Cards in a 17-inning thriller on May 11, was also the second seed in this regional a year ago.
