Some highlights for Deiontrez Mount finally went up on Youtube, as much as you can really tell from HS highlights, this young man looks like the real deal.

Needs strength
From what I see on the highlights, it appears the guy is speedy for a DE, and will be a good pass rusher. However, I notice he gets pushed back from the line initially, so I’d think Pat Moorer will be on him about adding more strength. I’m more impressed with the OLB/RB player we recently signed, but it’s probably because I prefer to see hard hits.
I don't know if it's strength...
as much as he obviously needs a coach… BAD…
His technique is awful. He stands all the way up immediately after the snap. If you ever watch Dwight Freeney (not trying to compare), he’s not an overly big or strong guy, but he stays lower than the OL and uses his speed and agility to not allow them to get a decent position to block him. This guy stands straight up and lets his man push him 5-6 yards off the line of scrimmage. He needs some coaching really bad. He may need to add a little strength (280 bench is not going to cut it for defensive line). But he’s certainly athletic enough to make an impact. He just needs to be coached the proper technique.
Not to mention the fact...
that while Freeney is only 6’1 (albeit 260 lbs), this guy is 6’5 and will almost certainly gain some muscle weight while he’s here…. So an athlete like that, if he can boost up to the 225-240 range, and learn the technique to maximize his skills, he could be a beast.
Thanks for the insight
Makes sense… glad we have Coach Strong. We’ve needed coaching for the last 3 years (BAD) as well. :)
what?
Kragthorpe wasn’t sufficient enough for you? .. he did a hell of a job… leading the choir at church.
