March 6th was a perfect day
Saturday was the single-greatest experience I've ever had at a sporting event. We'll go more in-depth shortly, but for now that single statement will have to suffice.
Three towels.

i don't think that pic is from the cuse game
george goode is in street clothes and rick isn’t wearing the red jacket
still, proof that jerry has done 3 towels is exciting
March 6 was perfect indeed and...
not to be Captain Bringdown, but that pick isn’t from the Cuse game, Rick doesn’t have the red coat and I think one of the chicks has a santa hat on.
Not sure how I didn't figure that out, still...
THREE. TOWELS.

This picture would appear to be from WKU day.
The Christmas hat, Jerry, Swop, Sosa, Delk, and Samuels on the bench, AND what appears to be Brickley checking in. I can’t think of another game where that would have happened.

You can tell the date by the diameter of Swop's afro.
It’s like navigating by the stars.

Should we have a run off between Saturday and the 2005 WVU game
for game of the decade? Or are we now into the next decade and forced to preemptively vote this one #1 and see what other games can compete for 2nd place?
I'm not.
I certainly hope that UofL will play in some more meaningful games this decade, but unless I am lucky enough to travel to a FF or NC game in person, I can’t imagine having a better memory or experience with any game than Saturday. It already ranks as my favorite basketball game, and I’ve seen Griff (when I was little) and lots of games from the early to mid-80’s, including the 1986 game with Memphis. I’ll have to evaluate whether it will pass the WVU football game as my all-time best game experience, but in both instances, it was simply amazing how everyone had a single game circled on their calendar for the entire season, and how things continued to develop to make that game even more important as the season progress, and how the games still exceeded a storybook fantasy of how they might end (okay, maybe Kuric hitting a 3 at the buzzer would have been better, but his last dunk was the loudest I think I’ve ever heard FH).
Amazing.
There needs to be a continuation, however, with Kuric dunking on the Death Star.
Copy of the game
Anyone who DVRed the game and is capable of putting it on a disc- I am hoping to get a copy of the broadcast. I played with Kyle in high school and a bunch of us would like to have a copy. If you think you can help out shoot me an email @ drewmeye@indiana.edu. Thanks a lot.
