Big East Tournament bracket update
Lots of half game leads and deficits at the moment, so this will likely look completely different in a couple of days.
The best part of last night's loss? It virtually assured Louisville of finishing sixth or seventh, which means we won't have to skip or quit work in order to watch the Cards next Wednesday.

Give me...
…Seton Hall or St. John’s.
Or Providence.
Is there any tougher conference tournament 10 seed than UConn or 11 seed than Seton Hall?
Anyway, the revenge tour starting with SHU/SJU, then Gtown, then Nova/WVU winner would be nice. No doubt in my mind we could beat or lose by 20 to each and every one of the teams on our half of the bracket.
Please have us stay as the 6th seed
That way, us West Coasters (the three of us) don’t have to skip work either. Also, if this holds, I love how this would set up for us. Playing Seton Hall or SJU (in MSG, but still) and then a WVU team that we beat (well I still think of it that way) would be great.
Of course, we’ll probably lose to Cuse, putting us as the no. 7 seed and we’ll probably end up having to play UConn a third time. Awesome. So hard to beat a team 3 times in a season.

Ain't no party like a west coast party
Hey, I’m on the west coast of Florida, so can I be in your club?
BTW, we will be Syracuse. 6th seed all the way.

Seriously
that 6PM start time looks nice.
No, west coast of FL cannot be in our club.
Thinking we will beat Syracuse too though…

Agreed -- 6 PM is nice. Unless it's 7 PM.
Is it this weekend or next when you hosers do that Daylight “Savings” thing? Used to make fun of Hoosiers not doing it. Now I can’t understand why anybody does it. Either way, afternoon baseball followed by basketball in the evening makes a good March.
late games are great
Except when your monday/wednesday class has an attendance policy and you already used all your skips on previous UofL games. Let’s hope for the 9pm so I won’t have to miss any of the game.
That's what they invented laptops for my friend
unless you’re in a tiny class, in which case, that sucks

I'm pretty sure that Pitt can't be the 4th seed
Assuming they beat Rutgers at home this weekend.
If WVU loses to Nova, it’ll be Nova-Pitt-WVU
If WVU beats Nova, all three teams will finish 13-5. Pitt would win that mini-conference by virtue of going 2-1 (Nova and WVU would both be 2-2) to get the 2 seed. Nova and WVU would have split their head-to-head, the tie-breaker would likely fall all the way down to their record vs either ND/USF/UConn/SHU, depending on how they finish up. Its Nova that holds the advantage vs ND, not sure about the others. So that means Nova 3rd and WVU 4th
Wow, lots of ball to be played still.
So if we win/Gtown loses, we’re the 6th. But if we lose/Gtown wins, we’re the 7th. I think I’d prefer to play Pitt or WVU again, not Nova.
I realize it will change
But as it looks now, would much rather be in the top half of this bracket than the bottom half. Want no part of Seton Hall, St. John’s or UConn. Would happily play South Florida or Cincy.
I would rather play UConn again
We don’t get that much from beating St John’s or Seton Hall. Then again, if UConn tanks the last 2 games, this point is up in smoke.
Ranking Teams I would like to play in the BET in order
1. Being most likely to win, thus want to play
15. Being least likely to win, thus want to avoid
I’m sure some of you will differ in opinion, but this is my list.
- Providence
- Rutgers
- Depaul
- South Florida
- St. John’s
- Cincy
- Seton Hall
- West Virginia
- UConn
- Notre Dame
- Villanova
- Marquette
- Syracuse
- Georgetown
- Pittsburgh
How is DePaul not number one?
I mean Providence sucks, but still

agreed.
not only do they suck, but Depaul has road uni’s that are blue with peppermint piping.
worst. uni. ever.
And we haven't lost to Depaul since ever
Since ever, Remote Cardinal, since ever.

my list
doesn’t change much from yours, although I’d rather play Seton Hall than St. John’s
Also, I assume you put Pitt #1 due to our history with them in the BET, but we completely outplayed them in our matchup except for missing 6 of our last 7 FTs in the final few minutes. I’d rather play Pitt than Nova, Gtown, Cuse, or WVU
From ESPN chat tonight, for what it's worth (nothing)

Is Louisville safely in the field regardless of what happens the rest of the way?
7:11
Eamonn Brennan: It’s looking that way. Lunardi has them as a nine seed (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology) which probably isn’t 100 percent safe, but it’s hard to imagine the Cardinals doing too much more damage to their rep from here on out.
