Derrick Caracter Declares for the NBA Draft
In other news, UTEP Center Derrick Caracter has declared himself elidgible for the NBA Draft. It is truely sad what kind of advice this kid is getting from sources. Or he might just be that plain stupid and thinks someone will actually draft him(which is possible). Ill give it to him, he had a decent year for UTEP, but Im sorry the competition they play is nowhere near what he will see in the NBA.
So I ask you all this, Do you think Derrick Caracter will be drafted this year?

Doubtful.
Unless he shows something no has seen in workouts, no way. Can he be good enough to play in the NBA? I think so. Is he good enough right now? Don’t think so.
Another year in college
Another year to drive the train off the tracks again?

A DaJuan Blair type steal
I’ve watched a lot of DC’s games this year. His footwork on offense is tremendous. He’s become a very capable scorer. I do think he could have benefited from another year in college. Being in Texas, I see a lot of Spurs game. DC’s game is very similar to Blair’s. I think he’ll be one of the few second rounders to catch on somewhere.

There are only two rounds.

Who would you rather have?
Not considering attitude, just game….
Would you rather have Samardo or Caracter? I honestly would take Caracter over Samardo…
Put everything of Padgett's into DC's body.
Minus of course his knees.

Tony Barbee was the reason he was at UTEP
When took the job at Auburn, there was no one to stop him from making the jump, right decision or not. Honestly, though, I wouldn’t blame him for not wanting to play for Tim Floyd, who is as big a scumbag as Calipari and 100x worse at hiding his skeletons.
