WVU vs UK

The enemy (who is also my enemy) of my enemy is my friend/hired gun… I guess

by Tryce on Mar 27, 2010 7:05 PM EDT reply actions

That pass by Wall was sick

WVU has to get someone in front of him, or they are done.

by cardscott5 on Mar 27, 2010 7:12 PM EDT reply actions

WVU finally goes to the rim

and they get block. Run some offense guys, come on

by cardscott5 on Mar 27, 2010 7:16 PM EDT reply actions

hate that foul call

50/50 ball in the air and refs always call the bigger guy

by UL is my hot hot sex on Mar 27, 2010 7:20 PM EDT reply actions

UK's defense

Surprisingly has been good, mainly because they are just so much more athletic and bigger than everyone they play.

by CardsFan922 on Mar 27, 2010 7:22 PM EDT reply actions

I can't stand

either of these teams. On the bright side, one has to lose. On the dark side, one is going to the final four.

by REALISTICCARDSFAN on Mar 27, 2010 7:23 PM EDT reply actions

What is WVU doing?

They are like a 33% shooting 3 team, yet, they have bombed 3s all day. I don’t understand that strategy.

by cardscott5 on Mar 27, 2010 7:32 PM EDT reply actions

Agree; the two teams that beat UK

shot 24% & 25% respectively from 3. UT was 6-25, USC 4-16.

by UL is my hot hot sex on Mar 27, 2010 7:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Bob Huggins hates stats obviously

Miss St did shoot 10-27 from 3 in the SEC Championship game. But point being, doesn’t seem like WVU’s game. Doubt they’ll win with this strategy in the 2nd Half.

Jesus, another Robin Hood?

Ok, not going to lie. I’m going to watch that in the theatre.

by UL is my hot hot sex on Mar 27, 2010 7:32 PM EDT reply actions

BE

Big East teams are not only losing games this tournament, it feels like they’re not even showing up.

by centrecard on Mar 27, 2010 7:39 PM EDT reply actions

This is fun to watch for now

But this is still stupid. Kentucky is going to make shots, and they aren’t going to keep drilling 3s

by cardscott5 on Mar 27, 2010 7:44 PM EDT reply actions

True

But Huggins has to be happy if he keeps Kentucky under 30 points in each half.

WVU, please go to the bucket in the second half, and go strong.

Draw the contact going to the rim. They can’t hit that many 3s in the second half. Gotta challenge that interior defense.

Curtis Shaw

Becoming controversial. Watch him to be very pro-UK this half. From Twitter:

johnclayiv: ESPN’s Andy Katz asks John Adams, director of officials what he thought. Adams says, “Interesting half.”

KySportsRadio: Crazy scene here…John Wall barked at Ref Curtis Shaw going into locker room. NCAA Head of Officiating went in to speak to referee Shaw

KySportsRadio: I was Worried about Curtis Shaw from beginning…head of NCAA officials shook his head the entire half

ESPNAndyKatz: Adams said Shaw said the player used profanity (Liggins) and then the end of half was a warning to a Ky player running his mouth in 1st hlf

by CardsFan922 on Mar 27, 2010 8:22 PM EDT reply actions

The part about the head of officiating going in to talk to Shaw is worrisome.

Let’s hope we don’t see a dramatic turn in the officiating the rest of this game. So far, I see no difference in the second half.

Classy Cuz

No intent? Sell that to a jury. Classy Cuz wasn’t looking for the ball. He was looking for two.

by centrecard on Mar 27, 2010 8:25 PM EDT reply actions

Because he hasn't hit anyone yet

he’s really showing some restraint. I mean he’s only acting like a petulant child. Also, it would’ve stopped a WVU break. I bet if he keeps it up he gets a tech though.

by Chris Redman is my hero on Mar 27, 2010 8:33 PM EDT up reply actions

WVU needs to get this up to 15. I don’t think UK comes back from 15.

for all the bullshit they spout about how they are actually a good football program but never have a good record because of inclusion in the NFC South (aka SEC East Football Conference).

Just did a drive by of WVU's SportsNation site, to see their reaction.

They had 26 game thread comments. Is it bad that we had 10 times as many for a game we weren’t playing in?

No. It's weak that they have only 26 game thread comments.

And we’ve had some pretty extensive threads on other NCAA nights too. I think.

March 27th

1992: Laettner game

2005: Cards beat West Virginia

2010: Cats crash out to West Virginia

What’s that? That means nothing at all? Fine, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Also, important to point out that technically we had a better season in 09—sure, we got to the same round, but we were the no. 1 overall seed, whereas they were the no. 2. I am NOT a petty person, I just think that should be clarified.
