Sunday Tournament Open Thread

via l.yimg.com
Just as fast as it came, the first rounds of the NCAA tournament end today. No matter what happens today, I think it is safe to say that the 2010 opening weekend has perhaps been one of the best opening weekends in the history of the tournament. Tons of upsets, close games, OTs, a dominant team playing nearly flawless basketball (I just threw up in my mouth), the balance of power shifting away from the power conferences towards the mid-majors.
Also fun this year has been the discussion on these pages. Thanks for stopping by, feel free to hang out again today and share your thoughts below.

Dominant Team Playing Flawless Basketball
I agree Syracuse has looked REALLY good. I’m glad I have them winning it all in my bracket.

Those guys in Orange are pretty good
Gus Johnson has been wasted so far. He should have called UNI/Kansas
How awesome would that have been.
I could easily picture him running out onto the floor to celebrate with the team.

Is Cornell or Wisconsin a worse match-up for UK?

I agree
Plus they’ve got the token 7-foot white guy to handle Cousins

“Shot makers are bracket breakers.” Clark kellogg, I’m afraid Jim is contagious.

Judy Garland reference?
Gus Johnson just cried. Unlucky that most of the close games were called by average analysts.

Our game with Duke
is about to start. Oh wait, why is Cal on the court.
I hate Duke enough to root for Cal.
Even if that “Bear Country” jackass enjoys it.

Ordinarily I'd be with you, but that guy pissed me off
Bet he’s not talking shit to Duke fans today.
He's probably blaming the refs.
No way that they wouldn’t beat Duke otherwise.

I hate Duke too,
but I can root against them next time. Today I took vicarious pleasure in every Blue Devil basket that made it ever more certain that Cal would be going home. The “bear country” jackass who appeared on this board was only a part of it. Various sites contained snotty comments from Cal fans about our program and our coach. I believe they may be the worst winners I’ve ever seen. I enjoyed watching them get theirs today, and I’m just sorry CBS switched away from their game when it became clear that those grand Pac 10 champs no longer had a chance. Maybe now the “Nyah, nyah, nyah” crap from Cal fans will cease.
I was sorry to see A&M lose. They’re a game team, and Davis is a beast.
Cuse is looking very, very good. Wow. We beat them TWICE. What a strange season.
