How far in the Tourney to be successful this post-season?
The regular season is over. The Big East Tournament is over. We're in the big dance and all that is left to change your opinion of this season is the NCAA Tournament.
Louisville was placed in the South as a 9-seed in what many are calling a "nice draw" for the Cards. Fans are filling out their brackets and much like the regular season, fans are picking Louisville to end up all over the map. I'm seeing brackets with the Cards exiting the first round and some with Louisville in the Final Four.
My question to you is at what point of progress in the NCAA Tournament will you deem the Cardinal's post-season successful?

Agreed
I’ve been saying since the St. John’s loss that I would just be happy to see this team make the tourney. As up and down as they’ve been, that’s all I can ask. Of course, if they shit the bed against Cal I’ll be pissed.

Seems like the overwhelming response in the polls is...
That making it to the second round is good enough. I have to say that I’m in the bunch of wanting a good showing against Duke, but if we lose, I’ll still view the post-season as successful.
A first round loss would be pretty disappointing, no matter how hard the team plays. That said, I’ll be proud of our Cardinals for previous accomplishments (especially the Freedom Hall Finale) no matter what happens.

Today I vote....
…win against Cal and then we’re playing with house money.
If we lose to Cal it just depends how. Same with losing to Duke.
The frustrating thing about this team is that obviously they can play with and beat anyone, but at least if they lose, its not because of bad luck, its because all year they have had WTF games. So even if we lose but “should have beat” Cal or Duke, its not like looking back with regret like 2005 and 2009 – where we could have beat Illinois and SHOULD have beat MSU.
So the point is, right now I’m fine if we lose either game but of course Friday night I will be throwing things.
agree
although i still think a middle of the pack big east team should beat any pac-10 team, atleast for this year
Unless we make the Final Four
it’s the Freedom Hall finale that this season will be remembered for. In all its awesomeness, it felt like a Final Four win. I can’t wait for the DVD.
