What to watch: 2/8/10
Villanova at West Virginia (7 p.m./ESPN)
Two top five Big East teams playing each other in a game of basketball. I will be watching.
UMES at North Carolina A&T (7 p.m./ESPNU)
Two bottom half MEAC teams playing each other in a game of basketball. Their moms will be watching.
The Citadel at Charleston (7 p.m./CSS)
My Losing Season is a good book.
Fairfield at Siena (7 p.m./MSG/ESPN FulCourt)
The Saints roll to 14-0 in the MAAc and continue their quest to get a single-digit NCAA seed but avoid the 8/9 death game.
Robert Morris at Pittsburgh (7 p.m./MASN/Big East Network)
I knew the league was desperate to add a ninth team for football, but...Jesus.
Kansas at Texas (9 p.m./ESPN)
You hate to put this much stock in a game against the No. 1 team in the country, but if Texas doesn't pull the upset then this could end up being a Florida '03-esque fall from grace.
Alcorn State at Grambling (9 p.m./ESPNU)
Eddie Robinson...that is my response to this game.
Louisiana Tech at New Mexico State (9 p.m./CST/ESPN Plus)
A big game in terms of both the race for the WAC title and La. Tech's outside shot at an at-large bid.

West Virginia's cheerleaders are sooo broke
and I’m not surprised in the least
i bet you wouldnt say that to mr mountain mans face......
about his sister/lover/aunt.
WVU player just shot a three from the same corner as Reggie, got far less contact, fell down, got the call.
Yeah, I’m still bitching about the reffing in that game. And yeah, seeing that play makes me want to puke.
And we're the last one in... I just feel like they're getting way too into the whole Big East middle of the road battle
On his site the first 5 out are Big East teams
I think the Big East bubble is the story of the week, but no way it’s going to be like that in a month.
This Nova - WVU game has HORRIBLE officiating
John Cahill is on this crew. Hopefully the Big East will purge this years officials and steal some decent crews from other leagues.
I think Bilas mentioned the crew of the 6-OT tourney game last year. It’s hard to believe that John Cahill, James Breeding, and Bob Donato were the officials of the 6-OT Cuse-UConn game. I remember thinking they did such a great job in that game. What the hell happened?
It can't be as bad as it was Saturday when Nova played at Gtown
Nova got called for 18 more fouls. 18…
And we shot 22 fewer free throws.
Of course, Nova shot 27 fewer than G’town, so the disparity was a little bigger on that measure too.

Fuck WVU
Them being ranked 4th really pissed me off. As we all know, Louisville would have beat them had it hadn’t been for those meddling refs taking the game away from us. I’m so glad Villi beat them. Coaches poll is crap. Their rude, annoying fans, Bobby Huggins… the rivalry is coming alive again inside me. I can’t wait until Louisville gets another crack at them….please BE tournament, provide this! If not, I guess we’ll have to wait for football season.

love watching Scottie Reynolds
Won’t miss having to play him, of course, but one of my favorite non-Cards players in the last ten years.
Definitely glad Nova pulled out the win.
WVU is definitely on my majorly disliked team list this year. If the brackets were set for the tournament today, we’d be teh 6 seed and WVU would be the 3 seed. That would set up a potential matchup against WVU in the 3rd round after their two byes and our one bye and one win over the 11-14 matchup (which today would be the winner of UConn and St. John’s). Yep you read that right, UConn would be the 11 seed in the BEast Tourney right now.
From what I saw...
Bracketology had the Cards seeded 12th in the East (Syracuse Region) and potentially playing UK in the Sweet 16….Did I see that right?
That's currently on the Bracketology site, yes
But you are assuming UK gets past Robert Moriss, who currently boasts a 16-1 record in the better-than-the-SEC Northeast Conference (NEC).

Yeah that's right
The thought of that makes me giddy, although usually the committee does a good job of seeding teams so that they don’t play a team they played in the regular season. Although they give more preference to not having it be conference teams… so we have a shot

Not sure how I feel about that
beating UK in the tourny would be 100x sweeter than beating any other team, but losing to them would be 100x worse. High risk, high reward
We would have nothing to lose, so I would love to play them in the NCAAs.
If we are a significant underdog (which we would be no matter what happens the rest of the way) against UK, then I would love to play them in the NCAAs. If we lose, we were supposed to lose anyway, and if we win, well… I don’t really know how to describe how fun that would be.
The flip side of this is that I would rather not play UK in the tourney in some other year if we were significantly favored; only bad things can happen if we lose, and the joy of winning is somewhat minimized by the fact that it was very much expected.

We might be considered a 12th seed right now, but that’s the problem with Bracketology. If we do enough to get in the tournament we won’t be a 12th seed, because of the victories that we need. I’m thinking atleast an 8 or 9, assuming that we finish around 5th or 6th in the league.
They gone have to stop sleeping on me one day.. I gotta be one of the best
