Rutgers @ Louisville: previews hard to come by
Rutgers got off to an 0-8 start in Big East play, and they're currently one game out of the cellar at 2-8 (DePaul is 1-9), but they are coming off a 2-game win streak, having upset Notre Dame 74-73 last Saturday and St. John's 84-72 on Tuesday - and they have evened their overall record at 11-11. Having lost to the likes of Charlotte and Western Carolina, the Cardinals have shown they can't afford to overlook anyone on the schedule. A loss to Rutgers or at DePaul would almost certainly consign the Cards to the NIT.
I've been combing the web for previews of this game but not much of anybody seems to think it's worth previewing. Even the Courier's C. L. Brown can't bring himself to preview the game, writing instead about the Cards' hopes for the second half of the conference season and barely even mentioning Rutgers in passing. Rick Pitino, of course, does have a little something to say, but even his pre-game presser strays quite a bit from the subject of the upcoming game.
I found a couple of stories from myCentralJersey.com about Scarlet Knights Mike Rosario and James Beatty, the latter written prior to the St. John's-Rutgers game.
And a Florida blogger is rooting for Rutgers, among other teams, this weekend because his Gators need some help for Selection Sunday in the form of losses by bubble teams like the Cards.
And that's about all I can find about tomorrow's game on teh interwebs.
