Signing Day takes a turn for the worst for Louisville

Kadron Boone and Todd Chandler both spurning Louisville wasn't particularly surprising, but now word is breaking that four-star offensive tackle Torrian Wilson, who committed to Louisville on Jan. 17, and Miami Northwestern teammate Michaelee Harris, a highly-touted wide receiver who pledged his allegiance to Charlie Strong even earlier, are signing with Central Florida.

The Miami-Herald has confirmed that Wilson is headed to UCF, and multiple online sources indicate that Harris will follow his lead.

U of L began the day expecting to sign three players from Miami Northwestern and hoping to snag another, but now it appears just one young man, Corvin Lamb, from the heralded prep program will be heading to the Derby City.

Strong has still done a tremendous job putting this class together in the time he was afforded, but having the rug pulled out from under you at the last second like this is a pretty bitter pill to swallow.

Recruiting sucks.

Lame indeed.

Stuff like this just screams “under the table” deals. Why would ANY kid pick a non-BCS school over a BCS school, especially when they were guaranteed playing time at said BCS school. I bet if someone were to monitor the Wilson family bank account, some distant relative must have died.

No worries to Coach Strong though, he did some amazing things over the last few months, so no hard feelings here. I just feel for the guy that these 18-yr-old dumbasses have screwed with him such.

WTF

UCF’s not even a good mid major team. I don’t get it.

I agree.

Two four stars signing with UCF is strange enough, but even stranger when both had guaranteed playing time at a BCS school under what is considered one of the best coaching gets in recent memory.

From Jody Demling’s blog:

Talked with U of L signee Corvin Lamb late last night – a teammate of Chandler – and he said they were “trying to talk Chandler into coming with us.”
So who’s the “us” if only Lamb is coming from Miami NW?

Looks like they really pulled a fast one on everybody.

Including their own teammates. What a load.

Even worse?

UK is signing some big time players that nbody even knew about, including a four star Miami running back Brandon Gaine.

According to the Miami Herald about 15 minutes ago

Michalee Harris, Corvin Lamb sign with Louisville.

Torrian Wilson did go to UCF (WHY?), but Harris has signed with the cards.

UCF

wasn’t UCF’s coach on the list as a replacement for K-bag?

Avg Stars: 2.88

While usually a pointless stat, it’s not bad for Strong’s first class.
