Questions after the 'Cuse
What will the rest of the season hold? Not to copy Mike, but I actually ended up thinking of 13 questions. Here they are!:
1.) Does Delk stay in the starting line up or keep the same amount of playing time when the Cards beat the 'Cuse without him?
2.) Does Marra consistently keep large amounts of playing time after a killer game or ride the wood like he did after his killer Prov game?
3.) Will Kuric ever get to play again? Should he?
4.) Can we keep starting Preston?
5.) What the hell happened to George Goode?
6.) Will the Cards ever score in the first 3 minutes again?
7.) Have you ever seen an inbounds play like Sam Sam’s?
8.) Can the Cards overtake a top 25 team in BE standings?
9.) Will ESPN announcers still continuously bad mouth the Cards during their games by saying the other team isn’t playing that well and it’s amazing that they are keeping pace?
10.) Can SVT get some minutes?
11.) Is Louisville playing well enough to have a shot to be BE Champs again?
12.) Make the tournament? Make a run in the tournament?
13.) Will UK fail in the first, second, or third round of the tournament?

UK may make it to the Elite Eight
because of their bloated seeding. But, when they run into a battle-tested team who isn’t afraid to take it to them they’ll be going home.

Samardo actually jumped
I’m not sure Sam has ever jumped that high in his life. He probably won’t ever do it again, and if he does, ESPN will be showing some sort of graphic while he does it.
I can garuntee you he's never jumped like that
They have run that inbounds play to TJ before

1. Delk stays the starter
2. Marra gets solid PT for the next couple of games, then his minutes continue to rise and fall drastically from one game to the next
3. He will play. Yes, he should.
4. I wish.
5. He’s still injured and out for the season.
6. Yes

1.) Delk is still the starter
2.) Marra will get more time, not as much as Sunday, but considering how much he had been getting 10-15 minutes a game would sound about right. He will have to continue to improve on D though because i don’t think he’s going to continue to get 12 shots to hit 4 threes. Unless of course we are losing and no one else his hitting.
3.) I think Kuric should play again. I also wish I would have watched the St. Johns game closer, because I think Rick saw something in that game that he liked about Marra.
4.) Delk and Marra instead? Delk and Swop? To go with TJ, Sosa, Samuels? Or Sosa, Smith and Samuels? I like Delk, Swop, TJ, Sosa and Samuels personally. With Marra coming in first for Delk or Swop and Preston for Delk. I think the better we can get the TJ and Samuels combo to work the better off we will be in the tournament. I think those two can create a formidable back line when we play teams that have a shortened scouting time. TJ is very athletic and even with his limited offensive ability teams will still have to account for him because of his athletic ability and that could help us in the tournament. Except of course Rick has told the world they can’t play together.
5.) What the hell happened to George Goode?
Injured, out for the season.
6.)
8 -0 run to start the game tonight. At least. I think the guys come out looking to end this one quick to make a statement. Especially if Beeker isn’t playing. And can you imagine the Cabin Fever that has built up in this town? Not to mention the welcome home they will get after the ‘Cuse game. St. John’s who? The Hall will be rocking. Well atleast during our runs, when the d takes the shot clock under :10, and when Rick tells it to.
7.) Didn’t George get one?
8.) We will after this run we start.
9.) I usually think we get good announcers. Not too mention it was the number 2 team at home. My problem is how quickly we became a bad team because of the St. Johns lost on the national scene. I would think that anyone who knew basketball would know that was just a bad game. I can’t think of anygame we have played full strength that would say that the St. John’s game was who this team was.
10.) I think T-mobile is running a deal right now. Not sure if they carryover to next year though.
11.) They have played well enough to be, but seriously how lucky would they have to get to finish 5 high stakes games in a row? That would be a syracuse ‘09 feat there. Besides I’d rather save the mojo for the real thing.
12.) I think if we make the tournament we are atleast a 9 seed and make it atleast to the sweet 16.
13.) I withhold judgement until after the SEC tournament. I think they could go down in the sweet sixteen because they seem to lose focus at points, but they usually have enough to pull the victory out. I want to see what they play like in an elimination situation. I think they have a bunch of young guys who have as their only collegiate concern the big prize and our having trouble caring much for all these other games they have to play. They will be a one seed and if they get the right draw they should easily be in the Elite 8. After that it comes down to matchups and where their chemistry is, and whether or not their role players continue to show up.

Real funny T-mobile remark
I looked up Goode’s status, it said he was out with a knee injury because he had a concussion, which makes sense.

My take on your take
1. Delk earned his starting position and will keep it. He is a better shooter and we need him on the floor.
2. Marra was REQUIRED for this game and he stepped up. Freedom Hall has him mesmerized. He can’t see the rim. Only the ghosts of past Cardinal Greats dunking and slamming. When he gets into the new Arena, watch him shine.
3. Kyle is a worker bee. His Indiana roots make him unafraid of any Basketball situation. he is young but hardened. He’ll play when it suits CRP. But he will always know his role.
4. PK is what T-Will was in his Junior year, good but not great. I see him getting major minutes when the games on the line.
5. GG is the big what if…need I say more.
6. Score or out-score. Yes to the 1st , Hell yes to the 2nd.
7. Yes, Grasshopper.
8. Win and anything is possible. Lose and…well you know.
9. ESPN hates the Cardinals, so yes.
10. SVT has a lot of PLAYERS ahead of him, and it gets deeper next year. So, not unless he DOMINATES.
11. No, but you never know who the referees will favor.
12. The Cards are IN. They make the Sweet 16.
13. Cats go down in the 3rd Round. You heard it here.
Can't wait to see
PK starting and getting more playing time next year.

So Apparently Goode dressed and might not be done.
George Goode dressed out for the first time since Dec. 5 when he started against Charlotte. Goode suffered a bone bruise in his right knee — the same injury that has sidelined Notre Dame’s Luke Harangody two games — on Dec. 10.
I don’t know about the severity of Harangody’s injury, but if it’s anything like Goode’s, seems like he’ll miss the rest of the season.
Goode tried to comeback from the injury before, but only re-tweaked it. At one point Pitino even declared him done for the year. Goode didn’t start practicing again until Monday and who knows if he’ll actually get in another game.

8.) We just passed GT in BE Standings!
Get excited fans! There is no reason to not get excited. Sure we have had early and late season woes(sp?), but let’s look at how we compare with the #10 team in the nation
GT— 8-6 in BE play
UL— 8-5 in BE play
GT best win = #3 Villanova
UL best win = #5 Cuse
GT— already played and beat DePaul
UL— will soon play and hope-to-god beat DePaul
GT— worst BE loss= Rutg
UL— worst BE loss = St. John’s
4-9= both St. John’s and Rutg
Can’t wait for the GT match up. They really are a hell of a team and made an insane comeback tonight against the ‘Cuse (down at least 22 at one point with less than 10 minutes left and then only lost by 4 after come back within 2 or 3). I think GT coaching leaves their team, which is generally still good, without much improvement throughout the season. On the other hand, I think UL gets progressively better all year long with Prof. Pitino teaching B-Ball 503— Advanced Topic in Basketball Defensive. Hope I’m not jumping the gun too much. DePaul could always pull a shocker, they gave the Orange their money’s worth, along with some other teams (just check their scores).
GO CARDS! BEAT DEPAUL AND GEORGETOWN!

They actually pulled within 1, saw it on ESPN this morning
and we’ve been known to surrender big leads this season. If we get up by, say, 17 early, I will be sweating bullets. But maybe we can weather the storm this time and survive an early lead. Assuming, of course, that we get one.
