Dominique Brown picks Louisville
Another gigantic land for Charlie Strong today as Winton Woods (OH) quarterback Dominique Brown has verbally committed to Louisville.
Brown, the D-II co-offensive player of the year in Ohio, threw for 723 yards and seven touchdowns and rushed for 1,998 yards and 32 TDs as a senior. He chose Louisville over Ohio State and Cincinnati, the school he had been committed to before Brian Kelly accepted the Notre Dame job in December.
The commitment of this four-star recruit could very well lead to another from a three-star as linebacker Preston Brown, a close friend of Dominique Brown's, has previously stated that he plans to attend whatever school the quarterback picks.
Charlie Strong's cool.

tiny error
Preston Brown went to a different high school than Dominique, but they are good friends and want to go to the same college
Could they be our version of Tim Tebow/Brandon Spikes? I hope so

So, uh...
…if we have a spread offense with a dynamic, athletic quarterback, Vic Anderson and some stud frosh, and a fast, aggressive defense coach with a bunch of quality young athletes……we may be pretty good at football next year.
How is it ppossible
That it’s February and I find myself more excited about football than basketball?
Charlie Strong has done more recruiting in a few weeks...
than he who is thankfully gone did in three years. (He said, stating the obvious.)

I'm sorry guys...
I know the guy is a four star, and that’s great. But 700 yards and 7 touchdowns passing vs 2000 yards and 32 touchdowns rushing? Maybe I’m too old school, but I remember when good quarterbacks, you know…. passed. This guy looks like a glorified HB. He should probably be at Georgia Tech or something.

Pat White's high school statistics from senior year:
1900 yards rushing 32 tds, 1400 yards passing 15 tds.
Remember too, we’ll be running a different offense than we’re used to seeing, that is predicated in large part on having a qb that’s an effective runner. Accuracy and technique can be taught, you can’t teach athletic ability. And if it doesn’t work out, we have Luke Woodley, who is a traditional qb, so all of our bases are covered.
He wanted to come to a place where he would start at QB
I’m not sure I’m sold on him. But hey, we are landing recruits from Ohio State, so it’s all good in the hood
He's the 20th ranked athlete in the country
If he can’t hack it at QB, pretty sure we can find somewhere else for him, and hopefully he’ll be cool with that.
