Living the Dream

I lived the dream tonight. I got picked for the shooting contest at halftime of the U of L game tonight  I have been going to U of L games since I was about 8 years old and dreamed that one day I'd be the slouch that gets to stumble on to the court and embarrass himself in front of a packed house.

Well tonight was my night cause the jumper was pure .

Made the layup with ease.  Drained the free throw. Swished the 3 pointer from the top of the key...and then I airballed the half court shot as the clock expired.

Aw well, I guess the dream had to end eventually but at least I got to mark that one off the bucket list.

C-A-R-D-S!

(please tell me that someone on here saw my one shining moment, I'd love to hear how ridiculous I looked)

deener and valvano referenced you

they were talking about how the sweet shooting in the first half rubbed off on the halftime show…that is until the half court shot. Nice work!

Yeah

Caught that on ESPN3. You’re a legend.

DARN

I went to get a pretzel and cheese @ halftime. I wish I could have saw you from a certain seat one row from the wall in section 305…

Not bad, except I was in 112

Thanks for nothing, dick.

(Just kidding, you did great!)

I was in my seat all of halftime

and I saw it all. Good stuff. Almost got out of my seat on the half court shot.
How did you get picked?

it was all about the shoes

I was sitting on the ailse with my brothers and the Kroger Crew guy just showed up out of nowhere with about 8 minutes left in the first half and said he needed someone to shoot at halftime.

They were both wearing dress shoes and I had on sneakers so I got picked.

I saw it man, congrats

I got to shoot right after Earl Clark posterized Harongody in 2009… I failed miserably and killed the momentum

I'll Point Out

That you actually airballed the half court shot twice. But your 3-ball was pure man. Good job.

by JMC1 on Dec 28, 2010 7:53 AM EST reply actions

Yeah yeah yeah

I was just happy to not have airballed the layup.

Dead on

From behind in the student section I thought the 1/2 court shot was pure. Slightly upset when it didn’t go in.

This is the most

Ive ever read the word “pure” in one sitting

More urgency at the charity stripe...

would have given you an extra shot from half court. Otherwise, solid shooting. A guy in 313 pissed his pants when you hit the three. Pants came off. Seriously.

Ask any of the guys at my weekly pick up game

and they’ll tell you that I’m an absolutely horrid free-throw shooter (I always end up sitting out the first game cause I can’t hit a freebie when we’re splitting up teams).

I knew that if I rushed it I’d never make one. I just went through my Steve Nash inspired motion and I’m glad one went in.

But you’re right, I should have moved with a little more urgency. I didn’t realize how much everyone loves Chili’s and how depressed they were when I missed

You did a fabulous job, but

you’re awfully luck that the Miss It Lady wasn’t letting loose at you with all 3 lungs !

Embarress, lol

HAVE you SEEN some of the people who got picked for the pass punt and kick at the football games. I won’t say any names in case he is a CCloid, but he threw for 10 yards, punted for about 3 or 5 yards, and couldn’t get the ball off the ground (AND IT WAS ON A TEE) on the twenty yard field goal. From what you seem to be saying, it sounds like you did a good job.

I was cheering you on

You did a great job. Made us CCers proud. Loved the new arena. Cannot wait till Saturday…

My first game in the Yum! Center

From section 112 your half-court shot looked dead on, just needed a bit more juice.

Sean was hilarious when you shot it again though, “Ok, we’ll let him try again, BUT IT WILL NOT COUNT!”

Last year, you could have made the team

We saw you too, also from 112. Very business-like out there, which I appreciated. Drained the three. Last night was a good night all ’round from three point land.

Ha.. Cool

Yea, I heard Bobby V and Double D talking about you at the end of the half. Good work! He said something like, “I can’t believe the half court shot didn’t go in the way everything’s been going down.”

Looked good from 324...

… you just needed to get your legs into the half-court shot. My first game at the Bucket as well…. nice to see the new digs.
