My money is on Brick
The way he would just sit there, and watch from the bench. It really disrupted things.

Edgar Eff'n Sosa.......
All I’ll ever need to remember about Edgar Sosa when I’m strapped to the wheel chair, in whatever nursing home I end up in, sipping on a geritol/ Makers Mark cocktail is this. When he hit that shot against UK the first thing I said after Nooooo-YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! was, “anybody but Sosa.”

I was thinking Samardo, too
Everybody knew he was off to the NBA as soon as possible and he had a tendency to mope on and off the court
by quiet cardinal on Dec 13, 2010 10:39 AM EST up reply actions
Sosa, Samuels, Smith
1. Sosa thought he was john wall
2. Mardo was lazy & crap and having to run offense through him was terrible
3. Smith’s hatred for Siva & Siva’s skills made him try to be better than he was.
and coming in at #4 although not really a selfish guy, just not a good player is our boy Jared Swopshire, this year him being injured is addition by subtraction. one word, Soft.
+1
other than jerry? he was downright bad last year but i dont get the reason
Bilal Powell for Heisman!
This is pretty damning
Swop also doesn’t seem too involved this year, I mean I know he’s been injured, but still

Don't agree about swop
I couldn’t be happier that swops not playing because he doesn’t fit the system. But I do like him as a part of the team though. He was one of the few players that played hard and that’s what this tram does now. I just don’t feel like he is an ego guy like Sosa and mardo.

Me Neither, I think if you objectively look at the situation....
you’ll see that Swop was forced into that position before he was ready. The guy had a lot of pressure to perform on a team that struggled mightily; and, in his defense he did have some good games. Look at how much better everyone else is without the poison of “ME-ME-ME!!!!! I WANNA SHOOT THE BALL!!!! WHAAAAAA!!!!” He would be better too. Does anyone really think we wouldn’t be better with Swop making passes from the High Post, helping create for others, rebounding from the wing? Come on maaaaaan??!! I think he would be an instrumental part of what we do right now if healthy and that we would be a lot better.

Hate to say I told you so!! BUT...
I remember having this same argument with other cards fans on this site a month or so ago. This team is better and team oriented than i can remember a card team since Garcia&Co. Sosa was all about me..I like to think of him as the Terrel Owens of UofL without the TV show. Jerry Smith was not the same player he was his Fresh and Soph year..out of shape, getting arrested. Hate it for him because his first 2 years he was tenacious on defense and hustle his ass off. Samardo was a dissapointment and whined nearly as much as Sosa and he was sipping on the same kool-aid Edgar was in thinking he was a future NBA HOF and really Samardo has a chance to be a decent NBA player Edgar never had a chance…good 3pt shooter….what else is he really good at? Goode i give you BIGGGG PROPS for telling it like it is and not being politically correct. GO CARDS and why did Pitino let this Drama happen in the first place??
Guys...The name he is talking about is HIMSELF!

I don't like the Sosa hate
His game could be pretty frustrating at times, and I guess a lot of people didn’t get over his egocentric play during his sophomore and junior seasons, but he did a great job running the offense last year and, dammit, he’s a sweet guy who loved being a Cardinal and tried (sometimes too hard) to honor that. Unlike SamSam
Couldn't agree more. Edgar is a good dude and a Cardinal.
I think Samardo was the biggest problem with last year’s team, and although I would rather have Siva running the point, Edgar did a very good job for us last year. Not only that, but Edgar seems like a genuinely good guy and a big Cardinal fan. And he saved Earl Clark from being the biggest goat of all-time in the Louisville-Kentucky basketball series.
So can we put a lid on the Sosa bashing?
by cardsinindy2010 on Dec 13, 2010 5:07 PM EST up reply actions
agree
It wouldn’t suprise me if there were attitude problems stemming from El Tigre in the locker room. He was immature for a point guard & had his ups and downs on the court but I don’t think he deserves a third of the emotionally-driven hate that Cards fans have beset upon him.
