When will U of L football be back?

Charlie Strong is improving this team every week. How many years will it be before we are back in the top 25 and get our seats filled before the game starts? When do we next beat Kentucky or sUcK or Kensucky or whatever you want to call them?

Hopefully UofL

Losing a million seniors after this year doesn’t leave the team a lot worse. It could happen though.

Yeah

But not all of the seniors are necesarily impact players. I can only think of 3, Beaumont, Canody, and Patrick. I’m probably wrong, but we have quite a few other perfectly capable players behind them ( Darius Ashley, Preston Brown, Andrell Smith)

Powell, Johnny Patrick, Adam Froman, Wetterer, Tomcyzck, Adams, Cameron Graham.

There are some others, but clearly, those could and should all be considered impact players, and they’re all seniors.

I say we'll be back in 2012

The big question mark in my mind for 2011 is quarterback. I’ll give Charlie some time to get his guys in here and we’ll be at 9 wins with a UK beat-down in 2012. I estimate a 7 win season for 2011.

I vote 2012

as far as being back in the top 25 and national prominence.

With beating Kentucky, I could see that happening next year. They are losing a few key players too after this year, possibly Cobb as well if he tests the waters at the next level. But, I don’t pretend to know UK’s situation enough to speak fluently on it.

But, with seeing flashes of the kind of play we came to love during the Petrino days already on display in Coach Strong’s first year, I can definitely see this team ready to climb another rung next year.

2014 (just for kentuckywild and all other UK fans who read this)

lol awwww i miss you guys to, but since im here i might as well give my opinion, id say maybe 2012 you might get 1 win in vs uk again.. things you will be missing for 2011, #1 home field -helped you tremendously this year

  1. unfamiliarity-joker had no idea what strong was going to run or that b-pow is a beast
  2. momentum-this years momentum really stirred up the fans and crowd, but with every loss i see it dwindling
Now if cobb decides to leave along with the graduating hartline then id say you have a shot next year, but uk has just as good if not better recruiting class, by the way joker hasnt really bombed as a head coach..every game but florida uk has had a chance but like the cards were vs uk this year uk is lacking the talent the other sec teams have in bunches, sorry to say guys but those days of louisville owning uk in football are long gone… i look forward to a very competitive rivalry with these 2 coaches.. now i hope i have brighten those who miss me day, ..oh before i go my opinion on dieng.. nice to see the ncaa can make some decent decisions, dude looked decent, knowles and buckels looked pretty smooth but id be worried about siva..you guys might be wishing for sosa if he dont get his head on straight, but its waaay to early to make any real judgement, but again for the ones who miss me, dont worry i shall pop up again on occasion…ps hi kentuckybred..it was nice to see you on asob…unlike here rival fans and opinions are welcome…peace

unfamiliarity-joker had no idea what strong was going to run

Under that same idea, Strong wouldn’t know what Joker would run.

The class rating is a bit misleading.

Many of UK’s commits don’t have any other big time offers. Most of our commits have multiple BCS offers, including Florida, Alabama, Auburn, and Ohio State.

by CARD_G6 on Nov 6, 2010 4:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Exactly

Look, the incoming players are the people we need to replace quite a bit of talent. We have a soon-to-be 5 star quarterback in Damarcus Smith ( they evaluated him off of sophmore film rather than the junior film others have been evaluated on) and a 4 star wide out in DeVante Parker. Life will be good.

Demarcus Smtih...

will usher in the new era. 2011 we’re a 7-5 or 8-4 team. 2012 we’re 9-3 or 10-2. 2013….11-1 with some luck. My crystal ball only has a range of three years, so beyond that, anybody’s guess. Alright, screw it….National Championship in 2014. There, I said it.

by fielddog on Nov 5, 2010 2:34 AM EDT reply actions

yep smith is pretty good

threw for 20 completions and 357 yards and four touchdowns vs eastern the other night… he is ranked the 17th best qb coming out by scout .. uk also has a duel threat qb ranked 22 by scout in the qb postion..smith is a little bit quicker

by kentuckywiId on Nov 5, 2010 5:51 AM EDT up reply actions

Duel threat?

So he’s going to challenge Smith to a contest of who can draw and shoot the other the fastest? That doesn’t sound right….
