Rick stated earlier this off season when he announced the hiring of assistant coach Tim Fuller who's sole purpose on the staff is recruiting that Fullers impact would not be felt until the 2012 class and beyond and those remarks seem to be coming full surface. Its still early but Louisville is already in on 5 of the top 20 recruits in the 2012 class. First there is Gary Harris who visited Louisville twice in a 3 week period and seem to enjoy both visits. Then theres Andre Drummond whose being compared to former georgetown big man Greg Monroe by the way he does so many things from the 5 position. Then theres Ricardo Ledo a 6 foot 6 do it all wing. The recruitment of Ledo is shaping up to be another recruiting battle btween Louisville and Kentucky for his services via http://www.zagsblog.com/2010/11/23/ledo- Next you have Rodney Purvis the number on PG in the class of 2013 who has reclassified to the 2012 class. Purvis just got back from a two day visit to Louisville and attended the Chattanooga game. Purvis described his visit as "Wonderful". Here are a few quotes of what Purvis had to say about his visit to the ville via http://jodydemling.courier-journal.com/
"The The visit was wonderful," Purvis said. "I met new people, hung out with the players and really got a good feeling for the university and the coaches."
enjoyed my stay," said Purvis, who returned home Tuesday morning and had his wisdom teeth removed. He noted on his twitter account that the "student section was amazing." The students chanted his name during several timeouts on Monday.
Purvis had a connection with new Louisville assistant coach Tim Fuller, who previously had worked for Nike. Purvis has said the two had a good relationship before Fuller began recruiting him last summer for the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-3 guard from Raleigh, N.C., said he "loved" the new KFC Yum! Center arena and "was really impressed" with his long sit down chat with Pitino.
And last there is Shabazz Muhammad the number 3 overall player in the class of 2012. Shabazz who recently stated he and Purvis would love to attend the same college was supposed to make the trip to Louisville together but those plans fell through due to scheduling conflicts so Muhammad will be making his visit this weekend and attending the Marshall game. I know we have lost out on big name recruits in the past but this feels different. I think the new style appeals directly to the players of today. These kids now want to get up and down the court and run and thats exactly what Ricks new style is designed for. Two the Yum Bucket sells its self, The place is absolulely amazing. Like I said earlier its way to early to try to get into the mind of an 17-18 year old but its good to know were in the mix and Tim Fuller has alot to do with it.
