Around SBN: Bill Stewart Dead From Apparent Heart Attack

He's a bit too old and well-paid to be pulling whatever he's pulling.

New Jersey Nets' Terrence Williams may feel 100 percent physically, but the second-year swingman will be inactive for the next two games, including Tuesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, for "repeatedly violating team policy," according to head coach Avery Johnson.

Johnson also said Williams won't be making the trip to Boston Wednesday night when the Nets take on the Celtics. He would not elaborate on what policy Williams violated.

"It's something we've dealt with for the past two or three weeks," Johnson said. "I don't know if he clearly understands what we're trying to do."

Johnson said the Nets have fined Williams "two or three times" for the offense, but noted "it hasn't worked". He added that Williams being inactive was being substituted for a fine.

I'm surprised his attitude has been this big a problem

He got benched last season and now this. He must not want to be in New Jersey, but still, this will follow him in his career. His problems must have been covered up while at Louisville.

Yes

T-Will, you’re better than this. Come on.

Pitino benched him in the Elite Eight game in '09

Due to some kind of behavior issue.

He was suspended in his freshman season for violating team policies as well, among a few other incidents.

Apparently when he’s not happy he forgets all about the team. And for the fact that these issues contributed to him being such a non-factor in that Mich St game and helping to blow our Final Four chances — I almost want to say he can kiss my ass. But, it’s hard to ignore all his positive contributions to our program. So, I’ll just say grow up, T-Will.

He's an ego head that will tame and help rule the NBA...

or an ego head that will flame out

….as he did against MSU with us….

we will see…

Vastly disappointed thus far this season

Last year I thought he had learned his rookie season, but alas. He had a great summer league, but that’s not the real deal. I drafted him in my NBA fantasy league (that’s right, I play the Association fantasy), but have since dropped him. Thought this would be a break out year for him.

The kid needs to get his head on straight.

But I feel like it’s not going to happen. We’ve all heard about how he’s unique and a fun loving guy, but the more I hear about him – in particular his time here – the more I think he’s just a self-centered guy who loves attention. More dangerously, he knows how to get it without being an overt asshole. He seems more like a con man than a happy go lucky team player.

Must we Bash T-Will?

He did a lot for our program, and helped get us our first ever no. 1 ranking. Give the guy a break, I’m sure he catches enough heat from New Jersey Fans. Well the 4 of them at least.

T-Will's fate will be determined Friday

Avery Johnson said he’ll announce a resolution on his shooting guard Friday, after discussing options with GM Billy King on the plane ride following Wednesday night’s 89-83 loss to the Celtics.

Williams was placed on the inactive list Tuesday against the Hawks for “repeated violations of team policy,” which includes instances of tardiness and “a lack of respect for the situation,” a source said. Johnson wouldn’t rule out Williams remaining with the Nets, but didn’t sound optimistic.

“Could be,” he said, also noting that a suspension isn’t an option. “Billy and I are in discussions with where we are there and we’ve been in contact with Terrence and his representatives. We have a couple of options available to us.”

Also, the Nets are hoping land Carmelo Anthony. T-Will may be a piece in that trade puzzle.
