Philpott named Special Teams Player of the Week
Chris Philpott has been named the Big East's Special Teams Player of the Week, making him the first Cardinal to earn a POW nod this season.
Philpott bounced back from a rough performance against Cincinnati by drilling four field goals of 24, 26, 39 and 42 yards, respectively. The performance matched the school record for trifectas in a game held by Nate Smith and Art Carmody.
He also made a lot of girls wearing his jersey very proud.
In addition to Philpottomatic's recognition, freshman safety Hakeem Smith was named to the league's weekly honor roll.

From goat to gridiron god in half a fortnight
Chris goes from shouldering a good deal of the blame for the Cincy loss to being compared to Art-o-matic in one week. Nice turnaround.
P. S. When is Bilal “the Face” Powell going to get his props? He ought to be offensive player of the freakin’ month.
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
Also
Chris would have had some competition from Doug Beaumont if not for what ESPN called a “phantom” holding call on the first of his two TD punt returns.
I’ve been carping about the penalties and red zone stalls, but it was a good week to be a Cardinal fan.

Really.
DB was on fire Saturday. The holding call was BS. The “offender” put a shoulder into the front of a guy then 3 seconds later the flag pops out.

Total BS
The guy who threw the flag didn’t even reach for it until it was apparent that Beaumont was gone.

I'm still boo'ing
that terrible terrible call. We were all deprived of the C. S. W. Teach Me How to Dougie.
Which is better after a TD: Teach Me How to Dougie (Beaumont TD) or Super Mario Brothers music (Urrita TD)?
Are they playing that at the stadium yet
For him? If not; they should be.

They do play it
and it is awesome. IMO, better than Super Mario Brothers, because it is so much more catchy.

My Mom knows what the Dougie is...
it’s doom is imminent.
