Connecticut suspends starting quarterback
Connecticut announced today that quarterback Cody Endres has been suspended for the remainder of the season for an unspecified violation of university policies.
Endres had thrown for 471 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions in three games for the Huskies this season. He replaced senior Zach Frazer midway through UConn's game with Buffalo on Sept. 25 with the score tied at 14, and led the team to a 45-21 win.
Louisville hasn't caught a lot of breaks in this series over the past three years, but I suppose this is one.

I suppose this is good.
Bilal Powell was going to rip them to shreds anyway. Now the onslaught will be even worse. I’m sure Bilal remembers the un-fair catch.
No, that was a actually a GOOD thing...
Did you want Kragthorpe with a bowl bid under his belt? He’d have a coach-for-life contract right now.

in retrospect I've been saying the same thing
one more win would’ve been a bowl bid and possibly another year of krags

Wow
Can you believe Krag missed a bowl by one bad call? Pathetic that that was the deciding factor with a team that talented. I guess it was worth it to get Strong.

I wouldn't say that
It was a culmination of SEVERAL bad calls, but not by the refs…
Krags would have managed to find some way to screw a season up.
OK I'll throw cold water on this
Sometimes it hurts more than it helps when they pull the starting QB. The replacement was the starter and is a Senior. Hopefully the coaching staff can adjust the preparations with enough time to make this good for us. Their booted starter was obviously better, but that may not help us, especially early on if we’ve been prepping for a totally different style of offense with the other guy running things. I still think we beat UConn pretty handily. We’re hungry, they’re not that good, and we should be able to have our way with them on offense.
Cincinnati
I hadn’t posted about this anywhere yet, but it’s been on my mind a lot. Cincinnati gave the BCS #1 ranked team (Oklahoma) all they could handle. Could have beaten them with just one break going their way. And we had Cincy beat, but for a horrendous kicking game that night. I know we’re 3-3, but Cincy is hitting on all cylinders and I think will beat everyone but WVU and end up ranked pretty high by year’s end. I honestly think this Cardinals team can win 4-5 BE games and get into a bowl. In fact, the only team left who might be a clear favorite is WVU. Pitt looked good, but who the hell knows with them from week to week?
Pitt looked good...
against Syracuse. I don’t think Syracuse is that much better. I think USF is just that terrible, particularly on offense.
I said going into last week’s game in the Dome that I would know more about Syracuse at the end than Pitt. Pitt, in my opinion, is a mostly proven commodity at this point. They had shown very little progression in their first 5 games, and to think that they suddenly “figured it out” in the Carrier Dome just doesn’t make sense to me.
Syracuse has proven nothing.
All I can remember is the that one time we got a backup QB...
and his name was Pat White. Anyone else remember that?!
I don’t see that happening here, but still you never know how a backup (especially their RS Freshman Box) will do. Look at Dodd at Rutgers, Savage goes out and Rutgers can suddenly move the ball.

Pat White = just what I was thinking
Not entirely sure I’m pleased not to be the only one.
"Screech, you CAN'T elope!"
"Who are you calling a cantaloupe, you melonhead?"
Just an update for you folks.
Frazer, the former starter (who was terrible) will be second string on Saturday. UConn is going with redshirt freshman Mike Box. Reports all year long have had the coaches high on Box, but he lacked the experience of the two so he never broke through.
Endres, the guy who was suspended, will not be back with the team next year.
