The Pipe Rules!!!
Go Cards!!! Let’s see what happens!!
…yeah, that’s about all I can muster right now…
Mission Accomplished!
As I watch Gameday and there is no mention at all of our game today, I am reminded of Barnhart’s decision to move this from the first week and to turn down this game as the Monday night of Labor Day weekend game (now firmly occupied by Miami-FSU) and I am thankful…..in the short term.
If the goal was to hide this game from the national consciousness, well, nicely done sir! I can understand when you are getting beat 59-28 and 31-0, etc.
I guess all that matters is in-state recruiting, but getting the best players from Kentucky every year is not enough to make a dent in the Big East or SEC. You need to get Florida, Texas, PA, OH players.
Hopefully Barnhart has that same short-sighted view and gets this game back in a national time-slot while we are still down. Perfect game for our new coach to introduce himself to the country and get some “Louisville is back!” press in 2010?
Somethings gotta shake..
Man I swear if we lose this game…. if we lose this game…. Ohhhh if we lose this game.

I'll be delusional for a minute with CardsFan, since the game has not begun,
IF
we can make Blue eat it in front of a packed-to-overflowing stadium of rednecks
foaming at the mouth for this most awaited and hoped for
total annihilation
of their hated, HATED arch rival
Then, by god, it WOULD be a game that fans would talk about for yrs.
OK…I’m done…
Well..
….after the way that drive went, holding them to 3 is not bad. If it wasn’t for Allen tripping…..its okay, as Frankpos pointed out we’re not a first quarter team.
Moral victory
Thank god they didn’t flag Dempsey.

VIC!
Making something out of nothing baby. I thought for a second he was taking that one to the house.
Hopes ticked up a little bit.
And...
…..back down….even the announcer thought that was puzzling.
There’s some Kragmentum. We have an early leader for “Worst Call of the Game.”
What the hell?
AFter one friggin play?
theoldman
Thank God we called time out
to run a damed blast play between the center and guard. Honestly, it’s like the plot line to a really bad movie…

GREAT blocking by the o-line
Now that looks good, boys. More of this please.
"It's not the South, it's not Chicago, and you don't think of it as you think of New York or L.A. It has some Southern romanticism to it, but also a Northern progressivism, this weird urban island in the middle of the state of Kentucky...For us, Louisville and the surrounding areas are the center of massive creativity and massive weirdness." - Jim James, My Morning Jacket
UK fans...
….this week weren’t too confident.
Still verrrrrrrrrrry early. Need to get a stop on defense.
JustCards is right...
we really did have some variety, and K was calling the plays. Who’d have thought.
theoldman
Who kicked that?
Philpott, Payne, Goettsche, Daughtery?

You’ve got to be kidding me. Can’t we get our hopes up for like 30 seconds?
So much for that.

Look at all the room on that side
This team is very poorly coached if that can happen that easily, right? That’s not a talent deal, it’s a serious mental error (for the second play in a row). I am getting tired of seeing us make easily avoided mistakes.
Honestly, how big was that off sides?
People who are smarter than I say you always judge a coaching staff by little things not big things. I’d be they are right.

This game so far has shown, I think,
that we have athletes similar to Kentucky’s — with a couple of exceptions, of course, such as QB. But my point is, we ought to be right there with these guys…there’s not as much difference as I thought. And yet with the coaching staff we have, I don’t feel much of a chance at all to win this game. It’s kind of sad, really.

I can't believe...
…we haven’t seen a play action bomb to a wide open Chris Matthews yet. Although they are moving the ball well enough on the ground, I guess we’ll see that in the third quarter.
I guess our coach sucks
I am not convinced about his play calling..!!!
If they don't score before halftime...
we might have a chance. We’ll need some 1st quarter intensity, but we’ll have a chance.
If they do score here… stick the no-drip spoon in the meatball… it’s done.
Anyone have any confidence that Krag will make an inspirational half-time speech?
And that we’ll come out of the locker room full of piss and vinegar? Anyone? You in the back? Anyone at all?

Brian Brohm isn't walking through that door. Michael Bush isn't walking through that door. Harry Douglas isn't walking through that door
And if they did, they would be old and gray
We are so bad.
But I still love the sight of UofL football players playing football. Something wrong with me.
I'm so frustrated...we have players who are talented and wnat to play well...
…but are so poorly coached. It’s almost a crime.
Good clock management, UK

Krag runs off the field yelling "good job, good job" to the officials.
I’m betting nobody has said that to him yet today.
theoldman
I would like to point everyone to the predictions thread.
I predicted a somewhat respectable 17-7 halftime score where UK goes on to win it 31-10. I also said that Vic would get our lone touchdown early and Darius Ashley would mysteriously not see the field again.
You can all see me for palm readings after the game.
True that Frank. I hope Coach K can inspire at the half, but I have my doubts. Too many miscommunications which has plagued us going on three years now.

There must have been something wrong with the clock.
Sure the operator wasn’t that confused. It said 15:15 before the last play, so obviously the electron gods, who are Cardinals at heart, ran interference for us here. I thought we’d be lucky to score but we did sustain a drive, so I’m already wrong about this game.
But the option call just reinforced every negative thought I’ve had about Mr. Jurich’s best friend. He’s an abomination.

God Burke is slow.
lmao.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!
Stop running the option! For fucks’ sake!
Give the ball to Victor if you want to run. He’s only averaging 7 yards per carry.
What's that old saying?
Stupidity is doing the same thing twice but expecting different results?

Does anyone else feel, that despite everything, we ought to be ahead?
It has occurred to me that Kentucky may not be very good, either.

If we're to win this game...
It’s going to be from a Johnny Patrick pick six, a Trent Guy return, or a long Scott Long catch.
Krags has absolutely no idea how to run a red zone offense.

I'm sorry...
….but I kinda think we should win this game. UK is not very good, and our guys are playing great.
If it weren’t for the Negative Kragmentum we’d be up right now.
Also for all the clock stuff, UK also called an inside WR screen with less than 15 seconds and no time outs, so it’s not like they were for sure going to score. What is wrong with Joker?
We are literally
making every strategic move possible to ensure a loss.

but the playcalling, time and timeout management could’ve been a lot better. UK gifted this one to us the entire 2nd half.

not necessarily Trent
I mean, had we scored on the turnovers then it wouldn’t have mattered. Too many ifs.
Knee-jerk
Ya, Krag made some nice play calls for sure. And the turnovers aren’t directly his fault. But we did not score touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and that cost us the game. And we did not score on that 4th and 1 – the option call is indefensible.
And why does powell get 2 straight carries to the right side on that critical drive?
He’s the Koach, its on him. That’s how it works.
I feel so fucking bad for the kid

346 yards. 168 yards rushing, 5.1 a pop. Uk had the ball for 27 minutes despite running 4 plays the 3rd quarter. 6-11 on 3rd down. Hartline was 20-28. It’s going to be a long season
