UofL Vs. UK Anyone going to the game?

I was just curious if anyone is going to the game this weekend.  I'll be there with a couple of people. I have a parking pass in the purple lot.  I know the game is kind of early so most people probably won't want to tailgate, but I'll be there bright and early getting cussed at by UK fans like I normaly do.  But like I was saying if anyone is going let me know and I'll try to find you.  It's always nice to a strong showing of Cardinal fans.

I don't know about you, Doc, but I just don't like being spit on

and having beer tossed on me at age 55…

and that’s in the good seats!

Used to it at WVU--don't go there either. .At UK, just wearing my U of L stuff...only Card fans in midst of a bunch of Blue

A little verbal sparring during the game, then

when they won at the last second, it was like redneck Christmas— started getting all sorts of verbal shit. I/we didn’t say anything, just started to leave, but a few fans in their 20’s were really letting our small group of 4 have it. That’s when I felt something slosh down on my shoulder, and I looked up to see a bunch of then laughing, and I yelled something and that was really it. That when I saw the guy yell and purposely spit at us.

Frankly, in much younger days, without dates, it would have been ON! But not in my 50’s with wives and friends…just get the hell out quickly.

I had the same experiences. Everybody wanted to fight me, even though I was there with 5 UK friends/bodyguards. It’s a great atmosphere to watch a game, unless you’re a fan of the other team

I've watched a few games at UK

never the UL v UK game though….great place to watch a FB game, in my opinion…though I was watching UK lose to SEC foes so maybe that’s why it was so much fun.

I would go if I was in the area and were fortunate enough to land tickets. As a Raiders fan since the mid-80s, I’ve adjusted to the lowered expectations mentality so its always fun to mix things up with the rival’s fans on their turf even if the Cards get blasted. UofL is a 13.5 pt underdog so there’s not much to lose, sans your dignitiy if you mind people laughing at you.

Go Cards…Beat UK

Went to the '05 game there

Sat in the student section. Went with the “Got Pitino” shirt.

It was ugly for a while but so many people left at halftime that there was no one to really talk shit when UK started to come back in the second half.
