Four Cardinals become former Cardinals
Awful news for Mozell Axson, whose Cardinal career is over after suffering a second surgery-requiring knee injury this summer.
The senior was supposed to be the lone veteran amongst the U of L linebacking corps last season before tearing an an anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during fall camp, an injury which he apparently re-aggrevated.
In other news to get you pumped for the start of practice today...
Freshman Sean Farr, a 6-3, 185-pound freshman from Baltimore's Dunbar High School, was ruled ineligible.Damion Dixon, a 6-3, 177-pound receiver from Port Allen, La., will transfer from UofL. Dixon sat out last season as a redshirt.
Walk-on cornerback Ravelle Sadler, a 5-10, 175-pound sophomore from Cincinnati, decided to leave the team.
Honestly, what can you do but laugh? You know, besides scream and throw stuff.

This is becoming embarrassing.
What’s the point of even showing up to play now? If this shit keeps up, we are going to have no assistant coaches and 11 players on the whole team. I think we will finish last in the big east, unless Krag has some sort of trick up his sleeve.
Doing things the right way...
I feel bad for Mozell, but the other three? I guess Krags recruiting not to bright players is doing things teh right way, or more kids leaving adds stability to the program? I mean I haven’t heard of these three players, but heck half of the team I’m going to be saying, “who is this guy” or “whats his name?”

Hasn't anyone seen Necessary Roughness?
Our next coach will be someone like Ed “Straight Arrow” Gennaro, a Speed school professor with 1 year of eligibility and a monthly show at the Comedy Caravan will play DE, a QB for St. X’s 1987 team who never went to college will come in to run the single-wing option, and we’ll upset the by-God Western Kentucky Bobcats in the last game of the season in 2010.
Seriously though I was excited about Dixon. And I think the sad thing is that Sadler was actually supposed to play real minutes this season at CB, despite being a sophomore walk-on.
UK tickets
Got an email from UofL reminding me I haven’t ordered my tickets for the UK game (interesting that they haven’t sold their allotment — definitely says something). This will be the first one I have missed but there is no way I will order away tickets until a certain change is made. It was painful enough reupping for my home game tickets.
You are the man
CB I read your stuff on cardgame and well you aren’t affraid to tell it how it is. Some people like ol whats his name the guy who is editor in chief of the Louisville Sports report said the other day on the radio he is happy Kragthorpe fired Greg Brohm, and he likes the way this team is coming along? That guy is either nuts or affraid to speak his mind in fear of losing his job.

Thanks
My parents took me to UofL basketball games when I was five. I was given season tickets for my ninth birthday (cheaper than a sitter — times have changed!). Had them now for 56 years. And my football tickets go back almost as far (except for Bob Weber’s last year). But my supreme loyalty does not mean I am blind. Unless I am far off the mark we have the wrong guy leading the football program. I think Jurich is a great AD but no one is perfect. Everyone makes a mistake and I believe Kragthorpe is his. He has a great batting average but needs to understand on this one, he struck out.
wow cb
thats impressive! How far down on the seating chart does 56 years of season tix get you? I bet youve seen quite a bit in your days as a card fan. And all this time I thought frank was the “grandfather” of CC, lol.
good seats but.....
My b-ball seats are pretty darned good but not for long. In the new arena my “donation” will more than double. Not sure what I am going to do. I hope it doesn’t come down to using that money to buy a bigger TV.
The Armory
I remember games at the old Armory which has had umpteen names since then. Bumped into Jim Morgan a few months ago and told him I remembered a game against a FL team (Stetson, Tampa?) when late in a blowout win he took a hook shot from 20 feet. Before I could finish my sentence he interjected “Yeah, and Peck stamped his foot and yanked me out of there really, really fast.”
Not sure which one of us was more surprised that someone else remembered it. And exactly the same too.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.
No, that didn’t help either.

BTW, I just realized Farr is a WR, and one of the better ones on the team in NCAA 10.
Of course, if that game is accurate, Chichester will drop every pass thrown his way and Anderson will get injured every game, so let’s hope it’s not that accurate.
My one word response to U of L football...
…Sigh…

Brooks took a beating too
In his first 3 years, but he turned it around. You all need some patience.
Brooks--Jesus! The guy has done OK, but c'mon...
Has UK ended the season in the top 10 in his reign? Have they gone to any meaningful bowls?
Yeah, Brooks has beaten us during K’s brief , but Cooperish tenure—so has everyone else including
Syracuse twice. So I’m unimpressed there also.
When Brooks is ever mentioned to me as an “example” of what we should want
it makes me pUKe.
You should PRAY to have a run like we did for 10 yrs…and we WILL have it again. TJ will ultimately make sure his much-prized FBall program is flying high again….
Brooks inherited a program still reeling from probation
Kragthorpe inherited a program that returned 3/4 of the starters and the All-American quarterback from an Orange Bowl-winning squad.

In one sentence...............
you have summed up the fall of our discontent.
Amen to that...
Louisville went from 11 – 1 under Petrino to 6 – 6 and 5 – 7 under Kragthorpe. Do the math. Brooks inherited a team that sucked. Krags inherited a team that was a Rutgers field goal away from a championship bowl game appearance.

and every UK fan showed patience with Brooks...right?
given the situation documented above, I believe UofL fans are being downright mild compared to Rich Brooks situation his first 2 years inheriting the UK FB team.
