'Mardo leads Jamaica to CBC Gold
Where did these guys come from? JAMAICA!!!
Jamaica started the first quarter 20-10 and never lost the lead as they routed the British Virgin Islands 65-61 to win the gold at the Caribbean Basketball Confederation Championships last evening at the Multipurpose Sports Complex.
For the home team, the silver finish was the best performance at the CBC level and has earned a spot to compete at Centrobasket for the first time next year.
Led by Samardo Samuels’ 17 points, Jamaica dominated the paint, pounding the BVI inside, avoiding the shot blocking of the BVI’s Kleon Penn, who for the first time in the tournament ended the game without stopping a shot.
