recruiting improves (?)

Beating out IU is movin’ on up, at least compared to last week. Consider those two commitments. For one we beat out those noted powers Akron and Central Michigan. For the other we beat out “hearing from” UC and Ball State (translation – we were the only offer he got). I can’t wait for Koach Kevorkian to be fired.

Big 33 Game features many Big East recruits

June 19, 2009 11:15 AM

Posted by ESPN.com’s Tim Griffin

Looking for a football fix this weekend? Have I got a tip for you.

The venerable PNC Big 33 Football Classic will display the best high school talent from Pennsylvania against their counterparts from Ohio at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pa.

The Big East will be represented by recruits on both teams in the game, which will be televised live by the NFL Network beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Here’s a look at the Big East schools represented by players on both teams.

PENNSYLVANIA

Connecticut – WR Malik Generett (William Penn York), OL Steve Greene (Bishop Carroll)
Pittsburgh – TE Brock DeCicco (Thomas Jefferson), DL Jack Lippert (Central Dauphin H.S.) LB Dan Mason (Penn Hills), WR Devin Street (Bethlehem Liberty)
Rutgers – OL Dave Osei (Abington)
Syracuse – OL Justin Pugh (Council Rock South)

OHIO

Cincinnati – DB Romel Dismuke (Cleveland Bendidictine), WR Josh Jones (Elder), DB Chris Williams (Cincinnati Winton Woods)
West Virginia – DB Darwin Cook (East Cleveland Shaw), LB Chris Snook (Medina Highland), OL Ryan Spiker (Dresden Tri-Valley)

WOW - I AM SO EXCITED. LOOK HOW MANY RECRUITS WE HAD IN THIS GAME. SIX DIFFERENT BIG EAST SCHOOLS ARE REPRESENTED. ONLY SOUTH FLORIDA AND GUESS WHO WEREN’T.
