In-State RB Commits
Football recruiting is officially on a roll, no doubt inspired by the baseball team. According to Scout.com, Quan Weaver, a 5'11'', 175lb running back out of Frankfort High School committed to the Cards today. His 40-time of 4.4 looks good. Offers from UK and Purdue may mean a couple of things, but with his size and speed, he might be a good fit for a spread offense.
Welcome aboard, Quan! Check out the stiff-arm at ~:51 seconds and truck at a guy at about 3:00. Nice slow-mo effects, too.

My opinon....
I really like this kid. One of the few recruits in the last couple years that I can say that about.
The recruitment of running backs
very well might be the crown jewel of the Kragthorpe era.

Too true
Now we just need some 6’8", 350 lb. running backs to block… some 6’4", 225 running backs with pinpoint accuracy to throw, and a whole bunch of aggressive, hard hitting running backs to take the field when the rest of our running backs get tired. (too much?)
RE: Too true
Michael Bush is not walking through that door. Bo Jackson’s definitely not walking through that door. Neither is Paul Hornung.

RE: Recruitment of running backs
Krag’s RB recruitment is like that “Heart of the Ocean” Diamond on the Titanic….their value should increase whenever Krag’s UL FB ship sinks and the careers of his staff and players drown in the undertow.

Like Cuba Gooding Jr...... "The Quan"......
Man, this kid is a great catch, as much as I have doubted (and still doubt) Krag, have you read the demling article on the kid? He is a multi-sport athlete. Just won Class A 100 and 200M titles last week at the state track meet……. 4.43 speed, 200 lbs.
“I felt more at home at Louisville,” Weaver told The Courier-Journal. “It feels good and it just had more of a home feel there with the coaches. I’m excited.”
The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Bivin was also being recruited by Kentucky, Oregon, Western Kentucky, Tennessee and UAB. He finished second last weekend in the Class 3-A shot put and fifth in the discus.
The 5-11, 200-pound Weaver starred on both sides of the ball for Frankfort but said U of L coaches recruited him as a running back. He rushed for 2,092 yards and totaled 24 touchdowns as a junior. Weaver won the Class A 100 and 200 meter state titles last weekend at the State Track meet and has been timed in a 4.43 second 40-yard dash.
Weaver also had offers from Kentucky, Purdue and Ball State.
