Angel goes No. 1 in WNBA Draft
With the first selection in this year's WNBA Draft, the Atlanta Dream selected U of L's all-time leading scorer, Angel McCoughtry.
The Dream finished 4-30 in their inaugural season, setting a WNBA record for losses, but they added former All-Stars Chamique Holdsclaw and Michelle Snow, as well as Nikki Teasley and Sancho Lyttle in the offseason.
Congrats to Angel, and best of luck to her at the next level.

Congrats to Angel and Candyce!
Beginning and ending the 2009 Draft the RIGHT way….with Louisville Cardinals!
that

she’s like pervis and grif rolled into one.
Angel is a Class Act
How cool for our UofL Women that we have 2 athletes going to be playing in the WNBA next year. Angel will have impact on that losing squad as soon as she gets there. They made room for her under the salary cap……….and now its up to her. Sorry they did not make the title game but UCONN was destined to complete their season undefeated. I am so proud to watch and be a part of the Angel dynasty and will miss her style of play. GO Dream!!

To the San Antonio Silver Stars
as the dead-last pick in the draft (aka 13th pick in the 3rd round/39th overall). Should have been at least a round and a half higher IMO.
