The dream dies...again

Although comparing this loss to the way the men's season ended isn't really fair, you know, seeing as how the former came at the hands of probably the most dominant team in the history of college basketball and all.

Angel_medium

Still, what a remarkable season.

Congratulations to Jeff Walz, Angel McCoughtry, Candyce Bingham and everyone else associated with the Louisville women's basketball program.

Congrats to the women on a great season!

If we can keep Walz at the helm, we will be back in NC contention again, and NOT as a “lesser team” (Doris freaking Burke). But this team got me to watch two entire women’s basketball games for the first time in my life.

Agreed on all counts.

Also, both national championships this year sucked. It was like one team that was going to win whether or not you wanted them to against another team that everybody actually wanted to win. It didn’t help that both were blowouts either.

There's no shame in this.

Looking forward to the years to come, and I hope Angel goes #1 in the draft!

What a run....

if Coach Walz does stay at U of L, he can build another UConn caliber program in time. He is a wonderful coach – you’re right Dais, no shame in this….we are the #2 Women’s BB program in the country. Congratulations to Coach Walz and his team.

Mike, you know I'm a big fan...

but honestly “the dream dies… again”…??? This in no way compares to the men’s team bowing out…we all agreed that was UNDER-achieving… what the women did was the pinacle of what they could have possibly hoped to achieve in this years women’s college basketball. UConn was in a different league then every other women’s team and for our girls to beat LSU in Baton Rouge, a 2 seed, and two one seeds to get to the championship game was not a death of a dream, it was immaculate. IMHO, that runner up banner holds the distinction of being the best of all women’s college teams not named UConn this year…. and that is a dream fulfilled.

Certainly, but

the ultimate dream is always holding up the National Championship trophy. He said it wasn’t fair to compare the Men’s loss and the Women’s loss, and he acknowledged that the Lady Cards had a great season, pushing so hard to get to the final game but unfortunately coming up short. They did such a wonderful job and everyone is aware of that.

no way should we be #3

i think that’d be setting us up for another ‘06 like disappointment. we have no one on the team next year that can play 3 or 4. yes our guards will be spectacular and our options at the 5 are only getting better, but there are a couple gaping holes that i’m not sure how we’re going to fill (swop? buckles? goode?).

You Had To Go And Do It, Didn't Ya?

What total BS this poll is? What do you do to predict next years ratings?? Of course, you take all of the teams that did well this year, mix ‘em up a little bit, then toss them like a pair of dice on the green felt table. Seven come eleven.
Comon, now we’re approaching the meaninglessness of Braketology once again.
UofL Number 3?
Is that Celsious?
I’ll say it once more. High middle in the Big East. Just miss the top 25 Nationally.

Tell me where I’m goin’ wrong?

Well where I think your going wrong is underestimating the talent the remaining players have and the improvement they should make.

I think #3 is a little optamistic however missing the top 25 I think will be way underacheiving.
